    Kris Bryant and Yu Darvish have been worth a combined 2.4 fWAR for this team that is 18 games above .500. Their absences haven't affected them much.

    Good. I also look at his career numbers when I speak about him. And his overall numbers look good outside of a fluky HR rate. And you always mock when others use arbitrary endpoints, so you should expect it in return.

    I think this is wrong. I'm not sure, but David will have numbers to prove it. Run differential for the last 23 or whatever games is -1 per game. They’ve been winning all the close ones and losing all the blowouts. That’s what lucky bad teams do. You're better than using run differential over a 23 game sample. You've lost a tick on your fastball from your doom-boner prime.

    I agree this is probably best-case scenario, too. His arm makes up for him being a big lug in a corner outfield spot. But he's not going to have much value on defense. His power is topped out unless he starts getting the ball in the air more often. He's always going to strike out because he is so patient and gets into deep counts. He will never make a lot of contact. He might BABIP his way to a more valuable season or have an insane HR/FB season. But this is who he is. I have no hopes of him being more.

    He sucks and we were always wrong to not hate him. Mostly, he's a shitty person and can get fucked.

    Overall, he's about what I was hoping for. I agree he's probably been a little unlucky with his strike zone. He's made real strides in making more contact and especially closing holes in his swing in the zone. He's also showing a better eye at the plate. I think his most significant changes have been with some of his batted ball problems. He's hitting more line drives and he's cut down his infield fly ball rate. Those were legitimate problems last year. I think his BABIP is about right. He's probably not going to BABIP .300 because of the shift, but there's no reason he can't be close to it. He would be wise to start getting the ball in the air more often and eschewing Chili Ball. Defensively I think his value is probably right this year because of how incredibly valuable his arm has been. But he's also been lucky to have so many opportunities to make plays with his arm. He probably won't have as many going forward. So that makes up for any poor luck on offense. Bring the offense up some and the defense down some and that's probably who he really is and it equals out to what his WAR is saying right now.

    As if there weren't enough evidence of them being frauds, this guy somehow has a 1.06 ERA and has only given up 16 hits in 34 innings against them as a Cub.
