  1. Cease is going to really confound opponents with his 98 mph heat when the rest of our rotation is topping out at 78 by the time he gets called up.
  2. Cease, on the season: 15IP 6H 1R 8BB 22K
  3. Cease, through 4, hasn't given up a hit, has walked 2, and struck out 4.
  4. If people want to see crying Cubs fans, they should check out one of our game threads.
  5. Yep. I haven't given up faith in Javy. But he shouldn't be playing right now. He definitely shouldn't be facing any reliever with a fastball/slider repertoire when we are narrowly losing late in a game. And he absolutely shouldn't be taking playing time away from those two (mainly Almora). The Almora/Jay combo works great. And Jay seems like he can fill just about any role. He'll give you a good AB. He can come off the bench and hit. He can play wherever you need him in the outfield. I want Albert getting a ton of playing time, though. Let's see what he's got. I have a feeling he's going to prove to be a really valuable player. Javy... you're gonna have to prove it. You still have skills we can use in a more limited role. I mean, he's like the perfect defensive replacement, especially considering Zobrist would be in the lineup. And he can fill in all over. But if he wants to play as much as he did last year, then he's going to have to improve at the plate and earn it again.
  6. I, too, hope Addison hits 110 home runs this year.
  7. I'm pretty sure he already is good Well, now he's going to be our best player.
  8. That was beautiful. Addi is going to be so horsefeathering good.
  9. Honestly, that is stunning to me. Granted, I am a gigantic idiot. I have no idea what peripherals he could be referencing.... Javy hasn't taken a non-IBB walk yet, is K'ing 25% of the time, hitting for no power, still seems to be chasing out of the zone a lot, 61% contact rate and 46% o-swing percentage and slashing .229/.289/.314 with a .320 BABIP Yeah, his plate discipline numbers are basically identical to his numbers from 2014.
  10. I'm fully on-board Team David. Bench Javy. Play Almora everyday. Keep Zobrist at second.
  11. Two wild pitches and we could be leading this game.
  12. Looks like we know who's going on the bereavement list next.
  13. The Cardinals have 11 players with at least 25 PA. Here are their three highest OPS': .762, .752, .667
