yep mostly what i remember about 2014 was the emergence of god mode jake...i think he almost threw a no hitter the start before that almost no no in boston too. then baez call up, which was super exciting at first with that series in colorado and then sad. then soler came up and for the month of september you started to see it turn, which is funny since a big part of that was jorge who wound up sucking. that series in st louis when he just wrecked them (len saying how you could collectively sense the cardinal crowd going "WHAT was THAT after soler's second massive dong) after also hitting a dong in his first AB vs cincy. but i just remember starting to feel what halfway decent and fun baseball felt like to watch again in september (then i think rizzo and castro got hurt which put a bit of a damper on it) Yeah, 2014 was a sneaky fun year. A lot was because we got to watch those new young guys we'd been dreaming of for several years. But, beyond that, there was just an overall sense of "It's all over, all in the past, let's do this." I remember there was a game when they interviewed Rizzo after the game, and he basically said "I'm the leader now and it's time to win." It was nice to be optimistic for once. I say 2014 seems so long ago, though, mainly because we went from losing big to winning big so quickly. 2014 might have been somewhat of a transition year. But as Omar said, 2009-2013 blend together so much. At least for me. I don't know how some of you guys remember so many random details from random games in random years. I have trouble remembering specific plays from last year even, unless I am reminded of them.
