  1. No, Joe, I don't think Starlin Castro and Didi Gregorius, two 27-year-olds with a combined 20 career WAR in 1,600 games are going to be this generation's Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera.
  2. Eddie Butler's struck out 4 (!) guys in his first 4 innings.
  3. Yeah, he'll most likely be put on the DL. But I don't want to see him pitch in a Cub uniform ever again. He's toast. There's no hope with him. No point in even sticking him in the 'pen. He just sucks.
  4. Why don't you just tell us the number of runs you want to score?
  5. They should have had a special ring ceremony before this awful game to give Matusz, Federowicz, and Warren their rings.
  6. The only thing that could make this game worth watching is if we dong Adam Warren multiple times.
  7. Somehow we managed to start someone worse than Brian Matusz, and for multiple games.
  8. What the horsefeathers was that!? Lester can throw it to first better.
  9. I don't know. We've had this talk before and I was one of the people that didn't get as upset at losses early in the year. But I'm pretty pissed about this one.
  10. Kyle's looking pretty great right now. I'll absolve him the early rockets, since he was getting squeezed and maybe was forced to get too much of the plate.
  11. So... the reason the Brooks Baseball guys and others are the most pissed is because they had this Statcast data for pitch velocity last year, but didn't release it. They still only released PITCHf/x, which worked and had been going strong for a decade. So if they just would have released it, or even looked at it themselves, it would have been easy to see these problems and fix them before they shut down PITCHf/x. Instead, they made the change and didn't even tell anyone.
  12. According to Yankees broadcast, yes. Way down. Back to 84-85. I have a question some one here might be able to help me with. Where do the TV broadcasts get velo readings from? Are they using the Statcast data? If so, that would explain Kyle being back "down," since I am near certain Wrigley's Trackman isn't calibrated properly. I'm fairly certain they use Statcast and don't have their own guns, I think it saw that somewhere on here or twitter. Figured. Pineda's down, too. Wrigley's numbers suck and we just can't look at them.
