  1. Like half of the team is injured. And one of our top bats sucked hard for three months and is now in AAA. Also, they've been much better in June, despite the injuries. And one of the reasons they are good is because they can play defense, too. The offense wasn't good when everyone was healthy It's almost as if they were all under-performing to start the year.

  3. Schwarber called out on strikes in his first PA.
  4. Imagine being so horrible that you've given up hope of winning this division in June.

  6. Monty is legit. I really like him. Let him start forever, or at least until he runs up against an innings limit and you throw him in the pen for the playoff run.
  7. No idea. Again, no idea. At some point this season. With the rotation performing better, particularly Arrieta, and with Montgomery pitching well, I feel more confident in it happening sometime soon. The offense is already picking it up. Injuries might delay it some. But if Zobrist comes back and is healthy, and Hendricks comes back in July sometime, and assuming we pick up another pitcher before the trade deadline, I would expect to pull away from them in August. I'd think even without those things, we can get up a couple of games by the end of July.
  8. The handling of these injuries is mind-boggling, especially with the depth we have (or at least had until other injuries/Schwarber sucking arose). We sent LaStella down to the minors because of a roster crunch.
  9. I assume this is solely to spread the ticket sale love around to another affiliate?
  10. This is fair. But that's also what was said at the beginning of June. Now it will be said at the beginning of July. The goal posts keep having to be moved, and that sucks. That said, I'm also not worried about them for the simple fact that the Cubs could finish fifth and we'd still have a championship within the past 12 months. It sort of takes the edge off. Who is moving goalposts? I've never claimed we'd run away with this division by the start of June or by the start of July. It's going to take awhile. We have to start playing better (which we have). And it takes awhile to separate from a team that is ahead of you. There's not going to be some magical 20-game winning streak starting tomorrow that puts them in the dust.
  11. I was mocking the Brewers because they suck and worrying about them is silly. I really don't care what they do against any opponents. They mean nothing to me.
  12. I was being sarcastic there. I think they'll win around 75. They might even finish above .500. If I had to bet, I'd say we finish 10 games above them, 77 & 87 or 78 & 88 or so.
  13. Good for them. They'll be happy to know they made it to July in first place, when they finish with 71 wins and are 17 games behind the Cubs.
  14. I thought they were bad. But they're really embarrassingly bad.
  15. "Facebook is one of the few forums I feel comfortable being bigoted on."
  16. Having the Reds at Wrigley for a three-game series to finish the season is a very nice thing to have in their back pocket. When the Cubs won the division three weeks earlier? It's a good opportunity for some minor league players to pad their stats and build up trade value before the off-season.
  17. Damn it, Duke. The last two times you said something like this they immediately started losing again. Just because they lost then didn't mean they weren't good. #wevealwaysbeengood
