  1. He hit an oppo Dong the other night Yeah, but I meant the majority of his at-bats. Thus, the "pretty much" part.
  2. Also, am I just imagining it or is J-Hey pretty much back to grounding out weakly to the right side again? I've missed some at-bats, I'm sure.
  3. So I was expecting to see Almora's splits be horrendous against right-handers based on the talk here. But he's hitting .311 with a .350 OBP in 221 plate appearances this season. I know I'm missing something, but what is it?
  4. Was hoping for more exit velocity on a 2-0 count, but sometimes it doesn't happen.
  5. I'm still trying to decide if it was great baserunning or great baserunning because he scored.
  6. I've always wondered if it's embarrassing for a third base coach when they put up the stop sign and the guy ignores it and scores.
  7. He had Avila struck out twice and it wasn’t called But he also had a chance to still perform and throw pitches and get an out on a pitcher and did not.
  8. I’d hope not. He’s still owed ~$50 million. Maybe that’s a scenario where the more the Cubs give up, the more KC eats his contract and vice versa. That would be tough to do, though. If they don't give up anything, I can't see how they don't go over the luxury tax this season by getting him. I could be wrong about that. Plus, I can't see us wanting to pay $15 million for him next season and in the future with some big contracts already on the books and, hopefully, another big one coming. On the flipside, I can't see them wanting to give up a bunch of good prospects in order for KC to pay a lot of the money, if KC is even in position to do that.
  9. Of note: That mistake doesn't have to cost the Cubs. Strop still can make pitches and the Cubs can still get the W.
  10. I feel bad for us, but I also feel bad for J-Hey.
  11. Have to bunt with J-Hey, right? He hits the ball on the ground a lot.
  12. Almora looked fast rounding first there for some reason.
  13. Zero runs, 15 or fewer pitches by Lester after the first inning would be awesome.
  14. It feels like our starter always throws 25 or more pitches to open every first inning, but I think that's just something I'm making up.
  15. Was actually just thinking the same thing. Five of the last six games we have done it.
  16. That quote.......doesn't inspire me.
  17. Is it ignorant of me to not want Britton? I realize he's still working his way back, but he seems like a dude who could get annoying really quickly (although fit in with some of our staff) with his control issues. I'd rather keep our prospects instead of getting this specific player, unless the cost is really low. But that likely won't be the case with so many teams interested.
  18. Will be interesting to see what kind of starter we trade for before the deadline. Obviously, if we’d have another injury, Farrell can’t be the replacement. Maybe Chavez. But I imagine they will get somebody.
