Be patient with me as I learn. So his fielding/baserunning is in the plus but his offense has been so bad that it still adds to a negative, or his defense/baserunning is also negative? his overall contribution has been 0.4 wins so far. that's a pace of under 2 wins (which would be a below average regular). that includes what he has contributed on defense, offense, and on the bases in the form of runs. he has been worth negative runs on offense. his defense, while very good, isn't enough to make him an above average player this year when he has been a .281 wOBA hitter (or 71 wRC+...100 is average). in fact, it's very impressive that he manages to even sniff "average regular" status with how putrid he has been offensively. Gotcha. I keep thinking that with the current team and the offensive guys we have, as long as he was a gold glover he would be part of the success even if he hit like me.
