  1. With our pitching staff, I think that is a good thing. With our offense, it's not as good a thing.
  2. I realize you are talking about this most recent hot stretch of offense, but the Nats have been on a heater for a while. They are 52-26 since their shitty start. ETA: Which is even crazier considering their craptastic bullpen.
  3. Yup and like you said it’s fine I think what's not fine is that he's surely going to be one of the first 3 starters in a postseason series. I wouldn't want that, but I'll sure take it.
  4. The Cubs and Nats, as a team, have pretty much identical offensive numbers. Nats are at a .263/.340/.453 slash line, .334 wOBA, 102 wRC+, 9% BB rate, 21% K rate, Cubs are at .253/.332/.451, .329 wOBA, 100 wRC+, 9% BB rate, 23% K rate. The only thing they do drastically different is steal bases. They are still better than everything the Cubs do, and then like you pointed out, can also steal bases. And also score more runs without needing dongs, as they rank 14th in that category and the Cubs fifth.
  5. To be fair in an Edith Cox sample size, Lucroy did enter today hitting .333 with a .417 on-base percentage with the Cubs.
  6. The Nationals are like my dream offense. They can hit for average, slug, get on base, steal bases. They can score without hitting home runs. They are really well-rounded.
  7. Chatwood earned a spot like this. Didn’t work. Cishek, Kintzler and Strop are all hurt and bad anyways. Maybe Vic shouldn’t call breaking balls vs that bum Voigt when he has guys who can throw 95+ on the mound too. I would have just kept him in the role he has settled into nicely. Easy to say now, I suppose.
  8. So proud of Rizzo. Javy, you make some damn contact and you make me proud of you, too.
  9. Welcome to baseball 2019, when every game is just a slightly less version of home run derby.
  10. Castellanos is probably a guy like Yelich, where you get him out of his home park and into a hitter's one and he's going to hit 40.
  11. Wow. Three straight people reported the same exact thing, which makes me encouraged.
