  1. That Brewer guy seems to be money, though. If he said Archer is going to be a Brewer, I believe him. well, all he said was that was his "personal guess" (yes, i am a sham of a person and i went to that board and looked for his posts) Hey, I appreciate you guys relaying the info. I refuse to go on their message board due to my irrational hatred.
  2. Stearns was never in Tampa, right? horsefeathers, he was the assistant GM in Houston. Idk why I thought he had TB ties. I do think he hired somebody from the Rays though. Either way, eff him and his team.
  3. Sterns and others in their FO did come from Tampa Bay so no doubt there’s some familiarity. But yes I’d guess it would be expensive and TB has been known to be tough to deal with in the past on guys on asking prices (which Sterns was there for a part of so I assume he knows what he’s getting in to/what makes them tick). Overall agree things don’t change a ton, it seems like they are trying to lock in last years performance with new guys this year that are knowing commodities. Yelich is a safe bet to make up Santana’s WAR, Cain is a safer bet than Broxton/Phillips in CF and Archer is a bet to make up for Nelson’s WAR since he’s hurt and/or Anderson regression. Stearns was never in Tampa, right?
  4. That Brewer guy seems to be money, though. If he said Archer is going to be a Brewer, I believe him. But, yeah, I would assume it will take some of their remaining top prospects. Interested to see how much they will spend on Cobb.
  5. Which would seem to make more sense, unless they are ready to go into a team-high payroll area. I suppose they could still empty the farm and get Archer.
  6. What does it mean that the Brewers don't know if the Cubs or other teams have matched, considering the Brewers only matched the Cubs? What do the Cubs have to match in this case? Anyway, this guy seems pretty legit. I guess the Brewers are actually in on Darvish, but they are going to have a team-record payroll in order to fit him in.
  7. Story says Baseball Reference has Brewers' payroll at 82.5 million. Cot's has it at basically 91 million. Wonder which one is right.
  8. Not if it’s true he’s already talked to Yu 10 to 12 times the past week.
  9. His Twitter account should be suspended for that.
  10. Good God, how is that even possible?
  11. I'm too lazy to look this up: Do the Brewers as a small market have to give up any picks for signing Cain?
  12. For me it won't end up being annoying, considering that means we actually signed Darvish. HighHeat said the Yelich trade had a 95% chance of happening yesterday, the same day he said Darvish to the Cubs was done. So Darvish is obviously 100% a Cub. It's like math or something. Haha. Good point.
  13. I'd think it's a lock a pitcher is happening, I just wonder of what caliber.
  14. For me it won't end up being annoying, considering that means we actually signed Darvish.
  15. I'm betting the Cain signing doesn't turn out well for the Crew when it's looked back on.
  16. I think they are for sure trading Santana etc., for a pitcher. These moves all seem to be made with multiple ones in mind/done.
  17. There were a quite a few more posters than you saying that the Brewers were going to win the division. Actually you were probably more angry at the Cubs than actually becoming a Brewers truther. he was definitely a brewers truther. I hate the Brewers so much that honestly I was just trying to brace for them winning the division and having to hear about it, especially when we were coming off a World Series and had a vastly more talented team. I was mentally weak. I can't shy away from it. But instead of doing a Theo and throwing crap around in private, I vented on the board. I remain humbled and apologetic about it, and it will never happen again. I will just throw crap around in private this time.
  18. It was just me. Well actually I didn’t think they were the better team, I was just convinced at some point that the Cubs were going to sleep walk through the entire season. This has become a nightmare thread. People relaying what VB fans are saying when I do my best to avoid VB fans in general.
  19. I also don't understand the point of how our pitching doesn't match up against the Nationals in the playoffs when three months ago we beat them in the playoffs.
  20. god i can't wait until 2019 when we have darvish and harper in the fold and those dorks are talking about how our window is going to be closing in 2023 or whatever. Now imagine having to live around all these people.
  21. lmaooo So Keith Stone thinks it would be wise to jack up the price of a free agent pitcher and that it wouldn't then jack up the price even higher for pitchers under control for multiple years?
  22. No idea why I think this, but I bet that’s a 5-year, $100 million offer.
  23. Just so long as they don't trade for Archer and then sign Yu, it's all good. Funny thing is, even if they made both those moves and lost nothing from their roster, they'd still project more than ten games behind the Cubs by Steamer. Wow. Nice. And we'd gain even more ground again when we sign Cobb or (ducks head) Arrieta.
