  1. All week they have been talking about how strong the wind is blowing in. Yet balls aren’t being knocked down.
  2. We also have thousands of posts showing Duker is right 92 percent of the time. Therefore, I'm not in the least bit worried. you obviously did not pay attention in all of 2017 when he nearly killed everyone on the team That was the eight percent.
  3. I don't pay attention to the Nationals at all. But they enter 6-7 tonight, and I haven't even pondered that record or what is wrong with them because I know how much talent they have and that a slow start isn't going to matter. I bet non-Cubs hating fans from other divisions or from the American League see the Cubs at 6-7 and think the same way.
  4. Even though it's baseball and anything can and will happen in a short series, the only thing I'm annoyed by this season is the Marlins series. That was far too difficult against a team that's clearly a Double A squad and hasn't done jack since.
  5. man half the reason i posted that is because i wanted you to illustrate why it's wrong so i feel better about this team of ass Because we have hundreds of games worth of info about these guys to tell us this isn't who they really are. It's two weeks. It means nothing. We also have thousands of posts showing Duker is right 92 percent of the time. Therefore, I'm not in the least bit worried.
  6. because last year we knew the back of the rotation was killing us, and that it would be taken care of either at the deadline or in the offseason. the rotation we have now is locked in. if darvish and chatwood disappoint, it's a much bigger problem. also russell and schwarber are coming off bad years, so if they struggle again, it would mean they probably just suck. then of course there's been the immediate implosion of happ, which has probably completely tanked his trade value. basically, there are fewer reasons they should be sucking this year, and less ways to fix it if it continues *wanking motion* Thank you for not doing a GIF for that response.
  7. Wait. We have scored zero or one run five times in the first 13 games?
  8. If Nolan Arenado wants to appeal his five-game suspension, that would be great. We play them next weekend and maybe he'd miss some of those instead.
  9. KB isn't the greatest first baseman. That's fine. He's not a first baseman.
  10. Was thinking the same thing. Two straight days of rain outs should lead to a series win over the Cardinals.
  11. I won't ever get worried this year until a guy like Duker or TT start to express legit concern. Therefore, I'm feeling real good still.
  12. For the rest of the game, will we have more hits than the Braves have runs? I say...........yes?
  13. Sure, but you are failing to provide context. Those two starts came against the Marlins and Braves.
  14. I agree, if "interesting" is code for "terrifying." It's simply an attempt to remain calm, with the expectation they will start caring by May this season instead of the middle of July.
  15. The interesting part of this slow start is how soft the schedule mostly has been.
  16. I want my Cubs back. I want my game threads back. Please tell me......how many GIFS are enough? How big does this pile of GIFS have to be?
  17. Is it possible a non-GIF thread would turn the season around?
  18. Well, it finally happened but it didn't hurt us. But Willson has got to stop doing that.
  19. Yeah it shouldn’t be. Last year at this time going through the rotation the 3rd starter was what Anderson, Lackey or Butler? Tomorrow Yu horsefeathering Darvish is taking the mound. Am I reading this wrong? Wasn’t our third starter like Arrieta? ETA: Never mind. I was reading it wrong.
  20. I think it’s fun we have such consistently high expectations. It never was that way growing up except for small pockets here and there. Now, it’s going to be every year for a while, even if sometimes they fall short of them.
  21. As opposed to the other really bad teams the Cubs have faced so far. Hey, the Marlins have won a game since playing us.
  22. Didn't the pitcher, catcher and potentially Hurdle show up the umpire after not calling Bryant out on strikes?
  23. It's not nearly as annoying when the other team doesn't score a run from third with less than two outs. In fact, it's actually very enjoyable.
