  1. Anthony really needs to get this run home in any manner possible. It would be great to see that rather than him hitting a pop up to the second baseman or shortstop and and getting mad at himself. This can be the start of his 2018 breakout.
  2. Wow. People coming down on Q here for giving up two solo homers.
  3. I have this lingering feeling we are going to need to still put up a few more runs.
  4. That doesn’t seem like it will get better for him until a cloud comes.
  5. Man, Yu would have given up 5 more after that. Good job by, Q.
  6. Jim Edmonds? it always felt like edmonds did it on purpose (maybe my cubs bias showing) while that really seemed like it pushed almora to the breaking point. like nuts and bolts were flying off him like a fast and the furious car. I laughed at this description.
  7. Bote provides such great protection behind Javy.
  8. I forget what the consensus was. Are these plays by Almora awesome because he’s so slow they all look awesome?
  9. Guy has 29 different pitches but has only been throwing two of them his last two starts, admittedly Coors played a role in not throwing the curve and they've been working on simplifying his repertoire. Seems like changing up the sequencing and mix to not be so 2-pitch dependent could help. But maybe they want him to fine tune those two pitches early on to work off of as the year moves on? Also how about we don't walk the horsefeathering pitcher anymore. https://theathletic.com/324591/2018/04/22/yu-darvishs-fd-up-fifth-inning-continues-troubling-trend-for-cubs-big-free-agent-addition/ Also Jesse Rogers is starting to run with the narrative on him about not being mentally tough, which seems quite unprofessional to say the least. Yu himself is sort of admitting it in a way. He’s acknowledged in each of his last two starts he let a moment get to him and unraveled because of it. I’m paraphrasing, of course.
  10. Hopefully Yu follows the path of Lester. Lester was pretty bad for us during the first month of his Cubs career.
  11. It does seem like when one bad thing happens (even if it's his fault, walking the pitcher) the dude melts down.
  12. Never really paid attention to Wilson before we got him. Just remember one poster always talking about him the year before we traded for him. Did he always suck and just had a decent couple months?
  13. Just once I wanted to know what it is like to be Duker. Instead, I was wrong again. Yet, I am happy to have been.
  14. That inning won’t matter much when we win 15-4.
  15. Superhottake: This team has been boring these first couple weeks even with Javy.
  16. Albert figured out a way to make himself even slower by sliding.
  17. Did DeJong just decide he wasn't going to swing no matter what, hoping Carl would be throwing a ball?
  18. I don't care about how Addison has done or not done this season, I just sort of wish he would have gotten a hit in that one at-bat a few innings ago.
  19. I once saw him hit a grand slam. i was super pissed off at my wife about something during that game, and i was watching it on my laptop in the kitchen while cooking when he hit that granny. it officially ended the fighte That hit was the moment when I realized this really could happen. Not your fight ending, but the drought.
