  1. Tried to drag bunt for a base hit, popped it up. *Fists of Rage*
  2. Divide and conquer, nice!
  3. I agree, but when the options/alternatives are Dave Sappelt and Cody Ransom he is.
  4. Why are you so worked up over this? I'm not, just think it's stupid we are moving our franchise SS around in the lineup for Cody [expletive] Ransom when the reasoning our manager is giving is disproved by stats. If Ransom was clearly better v. LHP I'd get it, but he's not.
  5. Cody Ransom career vs. LHP .251/.319/.489 in 256 PA's .808 OPS Starlin Castro career vs. LHP .315/.366/.444 in 507 PA's .810 OPS Yup lets make room for Ransom, Dale, and move Starlin down when he's equally as good vs. LHP
  6. Nice win! Batting Castro anywhere outside of the top 3 is really stupid.
  7. Maybe Fox will get involved. They could put Cubs games on WPWR or even split them between WFLD and WPWR. It's so weird to even think of a local OTA station other than WGN (and WCIU - I guess) airing games. Do other teams even have local OTA deals anymore or are most teams 100% cable? The Mets and Yankees occasionally play games on 9 and 11, owned by Fox and Tribune, respectively. The Dodgers play games on KCAL and I think the Phillies air some games (usually Sundays) on a local station as well. I'm pretty sure STL used to do the same thing but I don't believe they do anymore. The Brewers air a handful of games on WMLW over the course of the season
  8. Maybe FSN, if they are able to work a CSN buyout?
  9. Carlos Santana's slash line after going 1-2 with 3BB and a HR tonight is .389/.476/.722
  10. What game was this from? It wasn't yesterday. Lakers wear their white jerseys on Sunday's.
  11. If NHL coaches and Bill Belichik can completely ignore questions from major market media types in front of the camera about players' injuries when everybody knows there is an injury then I think they can teach a minor league manager to blow off questions from the Daytona news. Dealing with the media is something managers have to learn, so teach them not to answer questions about player discipline. Call it a coach's decision and be done with it. Yeah, just tell the coach to say, if they pull a guy during the game for this stuff , his hamstring tightened up or he's been dealing with the flu or something and if he sits the whole game just say it was a scheduled off day and he get his work in before/after the game.
  12. About damn time MLB ends their Nazi like rule on multimedia
  13. Between the bat incident and now this the local guys are going to turn him into some sort of uber-lazy, firery Latin, me first, lacks focus, brown guy if he keeps rising/when he gets to Chicago.
  14. Holy hell I didn't realize how bad Aaron Hicks has been so far in the majors. 30% k rate, .178 babip, ISO of .015, .118/.238/.132 slash line, 11.4% LD%, 45% GB%. I think it's time he gets sent back down....
  15. Not in terms of being part of the big 4 sports. He's the first one to do that (along with being a male) and, well, very few people really care about the WNBA and I think it's fair to say the general public already thinks/accepts a portion of WNBA players are gay.
  16. I mean technically nothing is a bad depth move if all it costs you is an Iowa roster spot, but Chris Nelson is super awful and I want no chance of him appearing on an MLB roster for us at any point. I'm not saying I want him taking 400 ab's at the ML level, but we have such little immediate depth in the IF and if 1 or more of Valbuena/Castro/Barney/Ransom got hurt we have very few options, he had a good offensive year last year and was a top 10 pick in 2004 (I think). It's worth keeping him in AAA, imo, in case we have an emergency need for him (injuries) I'm not saying I want him to have a spot on the team now as it is.
  17. Chris Nelson DFA'd by the Rockies, if we could claim him an put him in Iowa it wouldn't be a bad depth move.
  18. The Packers have 10 picks tomorrow
  19. Ugh. I wonder how much of the throwing errors are on Vogelbach for having limited reach/ability at 1B or being awful at picking balls? Would be nice to know if these guys are just sailing balls or if Vogelbach isn't picking them or if they are throwing balls just slightly off that most MLB 1B get.
  20. The Braves are very good at striking out, idk what the MLB record is for team k's in a year but I bet the Braves will finish close to it
