  2. Alcantara went 2 for 4 against Archie Bradley tonight
  3. He never really was, if you are talking about moving forward a few years. I guess he's a core player this year, if you want to use the term loosely.
  4. Keep in mind that I'm pretty sure that his primary contacts are KC guys. That's correct, ABTY might even work for them himself in a non FO type position (like marketing or something) and he has the contacts through that job. I also could be completely wrong on that second part.
  5. Excited for Blackburn and Underwood. What was McNeil's injury again?
  6. Is Buxton the likely #1 overall prospect in baseball when new rankings come out soon (don't most guys/outlets do a re-ranking after the draft and around the ASB?)?
  7. Accidentally had First Take on just now. Stephen A. Smith pronounces Mario Chalmers, Marry-O Chalmers. It's worse than Broussard's Duh-Wight.
  8. Some pretty high praise. WOW, that's some crazy praise. I think the 5-tool compliment is a bit excessive though. He doesn't project to be a guy who's power will be considered a "tool." But exciting news nonetheless. I've seen 15-20+HR power talked about, which would definitely be a tool for a plus defensive CF. When you qualify it like that, which Parks is likely doing, then yes it is. But I consider 5-tool to not be position specific but how your specific tool compares to the best in the league. Trout and Harper are 5-tool players, regardless of position, and more of what I was talking about. Almora obviously isn't in their class.
  9. Martz has had issues with QB's he's coached in the past too, hasn't he?

  11. Law's NL recap is up, if some wouldn't mind posting what he has to say about the Cubs.
  12. Yeah maybe Garza and Dejesus or Barney would be a package they'd like? Though I'm kind of leaning towards wanting to keep Garza.
  13. Could this be Johnson's last start at KC? I hate the idea of him getting moved to Daytona at this point of the weather season, going to be tough for him to stay on a regular schedule of starting every 4th/5th day with the [expletive] rain outs/delays. Obviously a move up to Daytona is necessary for his development, but it's going to suck that he is likely going to get yanked around by the weather.
  14. He's definitely in my top 10 and really hasn't been out all year, even after the draft now. I probably have him somewhere between 7 and 10. Soler Bryant Baez Almora Alcantara Johnson Lake Candelario JCP Szczur or Villanueva (with the pitchers just drafted Z, Skulina, Masek, Clifton and Maples getting consideration after the year is over).
  15. So what's his ceiling? How excited should I be on him? Depends, do you find a shortstop who's on pace to hit 20+ homers and steal 35+ bases at over 90% accuracy while in 600 PAs as a 21 year old in AA exciting? I do, is this a fluke start though? I guess that's more my worry with him. Is this SSS, or is he improving by leaps and bounds? I think what he has done so far is definitely signs of improvements/growth and relatively sustainable. I haven't looked them up in a while but I don't think he is posting any underlying numbers (babip, ld%, k%, hr/fb, etc) that point to major regression or anything. Was Alcantara an Int. FA signing or how was he signed/acquired?
  16. The toughest signs outside the top 10 will be/were 12th founder Trevor Clifton, 24th rounder Tyler Alamo, 25th rounder Marcus Doi and any of the HS or JC guys in the 30s, including 37th rounder Jeremy Martinez. Gotcha, thanks. Where would you rank Clifton in the group of pitchers taken in the top 10? Is he a better prospect than any/most?
  17. He finally made it past the first round! By...not playing at all. I'm guessing he is playing right now (this game put me to sleep) but my point stands hah. Did he play a minute before now? I know he played some minutes in the first round series against the Lakers
  18. Who are going to be the tougher signs? Or who are guy(s) if they did sign would really improve our draft? Glad to see Clifton signed.
  19. Apparently the Bucks are looking to trade up to the number 3 pick held by the Wizards for Ilyasova and their 1st rounder
  20. Castro is 2 for his last 33
  21. Harold Reynolds must own the outlet who reported that
  22. Has he been around the league twice by now? Or at least seen a few teams twice?
  23. Can we make up an injury for Castro to go away for 2 weeks and hope he figures something out? Hamate Bone Injury sounds made up enough....
