  1. Drafting college players means we must be shifting to win now mode...
  2. Who r some of the overslot pitches left? Is Gatewood a better option at this point?
  3. Beede to SF is a real good pick with how they develop SP
  4. He very much has a Brian Giles/Jason Kubel stance
  5. I was irrationally hoping Hoffman would fall to 45
  6. What was Bryant's k% last year in college?
  7. After 4, his next landing spot would likely have been 8 with the Rockies and they have a $3.16 million slot. Hope they can sign him for a smidge more than that, say $3.4 million, and save $1.2 million. Nice, that's good to hear
  8. How much under slot do you think he will sign for and/or how much in savings would be needed to get a tough sign? Couple 100k or are we talking $1 mil+?
  9. Scratch that, Aiken looks like he's 35
  10. God I'd love for it to shake out Kolek, Rodon or Jackson, Nola 1-2-3 and Aiken to be there for us.

  12. Any idea what this means for Marlins & WSox regarding him? Marlins have a lot of money, iirc
  13. That should be grounds for ending negotiations on the spot and walking out the room/hanging up the phone. On the contrary, it's evidence you are negotiating with morons who can be duped. True

  15. Would Nick Swisher be a decent comp for Conforto? Maybe a little less power?
  16. Definitely. There's a major drop off after the top 5. Yeah I'd think either would come in ahead of Vogelbach, Villanueva, Candelario, etc. None of those three are in my top 10 anymore and I'd take a guy like Conforto/Schwarber over Edwards, Johnson and Tseng (injury questions), Vizcaino (injury history/relief profile), Torres (no pro history) and Hendricks. I was just saying those guys are all top 10 in our NSBB rankings and they'd definitely be ahead of those 3

  18. That article is behind a paywall, what's the bump up for? The radio deal or speculation on TV deal?
  19. What's going on with/where is Dillon Maples?
  20. Jackson Aiken Pentecost Schwarber Conforto Nola Hoffman (Only if he signed at a huge under slot amount)
  21. I don't that is even the least bit true. Yeah looking at what they have done in the past I don't know how you conclude anything less than they are picking who they feel the best player available is regardless if he plays a position of strength or weakness and/or if that guy projects to be up in 1 year or 3 years+.
  22. Glad I'm not the only one. Agreed, what would be the best route to go with this? Send him to AAA this year to start the process? Piggyback him with someone at the AAA level (Grimm/Villanueva)? Or just stay the course this year with him in the pen and deal with it next spring?
