  1. I hope Theo is texting this to GM's across the league every night. "Look at this, we have another Bryant but unfortunately he's blocked by Rizzo. Got any RP's?" How about a starter that can go more than five innings? Lets not get greedy

  3. I'm 100% behind having the DH in both leagues, but when pitchers pull [expletive] like Ventura has been doing it makes me want to see pitchers have to take ab's.
  4. Here's video http://screengrabber.deadspin.com/yordano-ventura-sparks-royals-white-sox-brawl-1699873170/+bubbaprog
  5. The game is on MLBN live so I'm sure they'll be showing the replay. It's ridiculous
  6. Believe so
  7. Not that you should ever draft for major league need, but are there any college pitchers who project/could potentially be up in July/August after the draft for bullpen help?
  8. Grimm is already pitching in EXST, I believe. But yeah, Ramirez is dead in my eyes
  9. I'd be fine with a "soft" platoon with Russell and TLS when he comes back. Russell obviously needs to face righties for future development, but I'd be fine if he sits against some of the more unfavorable match ups.
  10. Extended spring training. Got it, thanks. Probably starts at Eugene in June then, with best case scenario a week or 2 at then end of the year in South Bend if he does well?
  11. I wonder the same thing, maybe let him stay there so the numbers play up and hopefully a team bites on him at the deadline for something somewhat decent/significant?
  12. I hope Theo is calling teams everyday about Vogelbach to get a SP/RP telling them what a phenomenal hitter he is but we have no room for him.
  13. Signed Also, I hate myself for even saying this.... Brian Wilson on a minor league deal? He throws a lot of cutters.... He still had a good K/9 rate last year. I'll see myself out
  14. Time for Bryant to unleash the Kraken in this series
  15. I'd say a good majority end up with the "They're the Cubs, they will screw it up." So.... I agree with Kyle. Pretty much the rest end up with the people not liking the way a guy plays, i.e. Rizzo isn't paid to get on base if he was good he'd have 100+RBI's. My dad and brother are the two that usually are at least open to discussion, despite not having the greatest knowledge of advanced metrics.
  16. Good to hear, hopefully he's in as good a spot mentally as one can be in his spot and I think it's probably best he spends some time there to work on things. "Things" being contact rate hopefully Looking at the game thread today, hopefully he's focusing on velocity off the bat first. Contact rate comes second
  17. Well [expletive], a split isn't ideal but I can live with it. Win the series in Cincy, please.
  18. I'm telling myself it's SSS combined with he appears to be affected by the cold more than other guys
  19. Maybe they should've spent the money on Robertson or Miller this offseason
  20. A: Who cares about pitcher wins B: If he keeps only going 5-6 innings per start he doesn't deserve wins He's not taking himself out after 80 pitches. Maybe he's only good for 80-90 pitches? He did almost give up a HR and a hard hit ball to start this mess After retiring 10/11 batters, someone hit it hard. Yep, DFA. Where did I insinuate DFA'ing him? Maybe Maddon/FO/someone feels he's typically effective for 80-90 pitches, they let him go out there and he gave up two hard hit balls and since he was in the range they feel he loses effectiveness they yanked him. I will say I wish they let him out there longer too, but this is the second time now where they've pulled him and I'm trying to think of why.

  22. A: Who cares about pitcher wins B: If he keeps only going 5-6 innings per start he doesn't deserve wins Tell me how that is on Hendricks that he never gets to pitch beyond the 6th inning, regardless of his pitch count. Because he might not be that good and he's only good for 5-6 innings?
