  1. Weird, makes the Walker-Niese trade make even less sense. Surprised they aren't going after Kendrick well they have two rotation spots to fill, right? Maybe? Cole-Liriano-Niese-Locke-Morton then Taillon-Glasnow-Webster waiting in the wings
  2. Weird, makes the Walker-Niese trade make even less sense. Surprised they aren't going after Kendrick
  3. Theo's probably too busy to be there because he's pleading with old man Ricketts to not donate anymore money to Ben Carson and Trump so they can make a run at Heyward
  4. Agreed, but backs up what Theo or Jed said about the price on pitchers being through the roof. Also, blame Stewart for inflating the pitching market.
  5. Do they have the money to go after Murphy or Kendrick?
  6. Agree, he seems like a very Cardinals move too. Also seems we alway face Cargo right when he's coming off of an injury and he goes on one of his hot streaks
  7. Don't know exactly where to put this, but Passan says Otani could be posted next year. [tweet] [/tweet]
  8. If I had to guess having a GM like Stewart in the league pisses Theo/Jed off more than liking it. Sure there's the possibility they could rip him off somewhere in a trade but they probably hate how he sets up fucked up precedents for player value in these trades and it also wouldn't surprise me if Stewart was one of those guys "scared" to deal with them because he knows they r smarter than him.
  9. It's really weird. Even if they think his 2nd half is best case scenario for him moving forward, he had a 4.54 FIP and 3.77 xFIP over the 2nd half. That isn't terrible for your 5th starter, not ideal, but not terrible.
  10. That seems odd to me. You would be unhappy if the Cubs signed Heyward and then went into the season with basically the same line up as last year, minus Fowler and Castro and plus Heyward, Zobrist and Lackey? I suppose come playoff time it wouldn't make much of a difference and Hammel could do his typical "first half awesomeness" thing, but it just feels like keeping Hendricks/Hammel as your 4/5 is ignoring a major problem. There's like maybe 5 teams in MLB with a better 4/5 than Hendricks/Hammel.
  11. Where did you see that? Forgot to link the tweet, [tweet]https://twitter.com/CarrieMuskat/status/674612493134774273[/tweet] Thanks! That's good news, it lowers Lackey's 2016 number and means that he's probably not getting the Lackey/Tanaka money treatment so that money is still potentially available. Yeah, leaves me optimistic we still have decent money left for Heyward. Also Mooney had in his article today the info on the $7 million being 2 this year and 5 in 2017, so Muskat's info has been confirmed. Which is good because she certainly fucks up a lot.
  12. Coghlan, most easily replaceable and becomes kind of useless/redundant if Heyward is added. I think we need the other 3 to be a really good team next year and trading any of Montero, Wood, Hammel opens up potential holes/areas of concern.
  13. Those first 3 might be enough for a rehabbing Cobb? I'd be surprised if that's enough for McGee or Odorizzi
  14. I'd go McFadden and Watkins if Anderson plays, if not Hillman and Watkins
  15. Playoffs are here in most leagues, have a tough decision for my QB2 in a 2 QB league Stafford @ STL Ryan @ CAR Mariota @ NYJ All pretty bad matchups, Osweiler is a FA as well and vs OAK
  16. Adam Lind to the Mariners for "lower-level" prospects.
  17. Where did you see that? Forgot to link the tweet, [tweet]https://twitter.com/CarrieMuskat/status/674612493134774273[/tweet]
  18. Lackey's $7 million signing bonus gets broke down as such, he gets $2 million this year and $5 million in 2017
  19. Saw this in the Keri article on the trade [tweet] [/tweet]
  20. [tweet]https://twitter.com/CarrieMuskat/status/674419400833921024[/tweet] Assuming there isn't an injury to the starting rotation and we go into the year with Arrieta, Lester, Lackey, Hendricks, Hammel would it be hard to imagine him starting the year in AAA to get regular starts? Does he have options left?
  21. ZiPS projects more WAR over the next 3 years for Warren as a full-time starter than for Miller
  22. http://cdn.acidcow.com/pics/20140226/first_sx_experience_01.gif
  23. Yeah now way Friedman does that, he'd almost have to get Stanton back in that deal as well.
