  1. No Lester but Wainwright at 51. Cool stuff
  2. Baez, Bryant, Zobrist, Schwarber, Montero, idk pick one. Throw their names in a hat. horsefeathers throw Travis Wood out there or have a random fan drawing for 1B that day and we'd still have a better lineup than just about any other MLB team
  3. I would like to get my hands on a pair of those Jordan 12s Dexter is rocking
  4. The chart isn't hard to read, his narrative/tweet on it was a little weird I think its wrong, too. Bryant didnt start any games at 1B or CF, let alone multiple at each, did he? I know he was subbed into CF a few times, but not started. I think he started at least 1 game in CF last year. I want to say in Pittsburgh. Can't recall any 1B starts or appearances.

  6. This also allows us to go into the year with a really small bench of just Baez, La Stella, Ross and Soler and then let the grand experiment of the utility bullpen take shape.
  7. [tweet] [/tweet] LOL
  8. So Zobrist or Heyward #2? Schwarbs vs RHP Zobrist vs LHP. Heyward 5 behind RIzzo/Bryant. But it's Maddon and his magical, wizardry ways. We are going to see a million different lineup configurations during the year.
  9. No. It's $8 mil this year and $9 mil next year if both sides opt in and $5 mil if either side opts out. So at most we have him for $17 mil the next two years and the least it's $13 mil for this year. If I understand Rogers tweets correctly. Wasn't the Orioles rumor 3/35m? He left a lot of money on the table to come back if that's the case. He's taking a gamble for sure. But if it's true they wouldn't give him an opt out he can probably get or top 3/30+ next year in a bad FA market with maybe no QO attached + the $13 mil from this year, it's not "that" big of a risk.

  11. I'm mildly concerned that that won't be the case. I know we don't give many [expletive], but moving Heyward to CF and Fowler to RF is hard to see. And I'm having a hard time not seeing Fowler start a lot, but who knows. If it were me, he'd be our super 4th OF...and maybe there's room for him to be that and still get everyone enough starts and PAs. In terms of maximizing defense, wouldn't Fowler in LF, Heyward in CF and Soler/Schwarbs in RF probably give us the best defense? Taking Fowler's arm into consideration it probably is, I think.

  13. So opening day lineup.... Fowler LF Heyward CF Rizzo 1B Bryant 3B Schwarzer DH Soler RF Zobrist 2B Montero C Russell SS Edited, forgot Zobrist in my excitement. LOL
  14. It's not that hard to get them all a good amount of playing time and being all near starters. Fowler is going to play everyday as at least a defensive replacement. I posted this in the original Fowler thread at the beginning of the offseason...... "There's roughly 1,944 PAs between the 3 OF spots for next year (4 PAs per game per 3 spots). Heyward at 600 drops it to 1,344, 500 for both Soler/Fowler drops it to 344, that means Schwarber catches about 35 games to get him to 500 PAs, which seems reasonable. There's also an additional 10 games in AL stadiums so DH adds about 40 PAs, if most of those are given to Schwarber/Soler that drops the games Schwarber needs to catch to about 25 games. It can be done fairly easily with those rough parameters."
  15. HOLY horsefeathers
  16. FWIW [tweet] [/tweet]
  17. Nothing overly inspiring about Brooks looking at his Fangraphs page, I wonder if this was more of a dump move to bring Jackson back as the 4th OF
  18. These guys are the best
  19. Maybe it was meant to be part of a fishing metaphor and we just are all to dumb to realize
  20. There's this too [tweet]https://twitter.com/chelsea_janes/status/702567789576503299[/tweet]
  21. I think the much more likely scenario for him waiting for the end of the year/a WS is that he's hoping to negotiate a ridiculous compensation package with the Cubs that dwarfs any current GM/President of Baseball Operations compensation package. Also if Theo leaves because we won a world series and he feels he's run his course for whatever dumb reasons I don't really care if we bring back Hendry to run things BECAUSE WE JUST WON A horsefeathering WORLD SERIES.
  22. No, he and Ricketts have both publicly said they aren't worried about/will get to it. Seems like they wanted to focus on other things during the offseason that they felt were more important/pressing. In terms of Theo's actual job that has to be one of the busier times of the year so he probably didn't want to focus on something viewed not as dire, he probably gets extended by the ASB. If I had to guess.
  23. 5 to about 12 are virtually interchangeable to me as of right now between Mckinney, Jeimer, Eloy, Cease, Edwards, EJM, Underwood and De La Cruz.
  24. I need to hear back from a couple people to see if we have any additional spots. What as all that we have multiple teams to pick from, talk? http://cdn.makeagif.com/media/9-09-2015/zZwqYs.gif
