I hope they work for him mostly for the fact he'd be one of my favorite trade targets this offseason if he can come back. Which is likely wishful thinking for more reasons than one.

Yeah, no to either of these I most definitely did not just come up with that Almora opinion on 70 PAs, but they do contain the same slap happy no walk, no pop offensive game he's shown throughout the minors that we can expect at the ML level. As opposed to the pop heavy .633 OPS Heyward has or Pompey's .708 in AAA being older and repeating? They're [expletive] mashers. Well Almora is going to have to put up a .350+ BABIP along with a low-mid teens k% rate with his offensive profile to put up even a remotely decent slash line -

I'd also find it highly unlikely with our FO and Joe that they didn't sit him down and have a good talk with him about the reasoning of the move and assured him he has a role. I doubt he just showed up to the park one day and found his locker cleared out with a megabus ticket to Iowa leaving in an hour. But he's surely acting like the latter happened or is just a horsefeathering idiot that the former likely happened and he couldn't get it through his stupid seal brain.

Rosenthal and Heyman both tweeted that Fielder is being declared 'medically disabled' and unable to play as opposed to retirement, so that's why he's still going to get paid. Half his remaining money is apparently being covered by insurance, so the Rangers aren't being completely left up a creek. I think the Tigers are responsible for paying some of his contract too.
