  1. If the choices are Giants, Cards, Dodgers or Mets...my choice would be the Cards because they're the worst team on that list by a pretty comfortable margin. It'll be fun to watch them kick the ball all over the field in a playoff game. Someone mentioned it here earlier but the only worry about the Cards is Matheny doing something dumb and starting Wainwright in the WC game because of veteran horsefeathers and then getting Martinez to start Game 1. I feel like the Giants and Mets, assuming they don't go down to the last day, would be weakened more by having to start Thor and Bumgarner in the WC game. But even then, I think I'd rather have the Giants miss out completely because even if Bum starts the WC game, you still get Cueto in Games 1 and 5 with Bumgarner in 3. Those two guys only start 3 games regardless in a DS (Bum in 1 and 5, Cueto in 3 if Bum can't pitch the WC game). With the Cards, it's maybe Martinez in 1 and 5 if Matheny is dumb. Mets definitely get hurt the most by the WC game, though. Us vs. Martinez this year... 4GS, 24IP, 24H, 9BB, 3HR, 14R, 14ER. The last 3 starts he's given up 13 runs (4, 3, 6) and given up 21 hits in 17 innings. I'm not all that afraid of facing him. But I get the overall point, Giants I least want to face.
  2. AJ Preller suspended 30 days without pay for the Padres messing with/failing to report their players injuries/treatments/etc. to the MLB database available to teams when they are discussing players in trades. http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/17556994/padres-general-manager-suspended-30-days-drew-pomeranz-investigation
  3. Some Indians FO guy is a finalist for one of the Twins PBOp, which is good for keeping McCleod you'd think
  4. He doesn't have any power to sacrifice, so overhaul away. Yeah there's very little power to sacrifice as is and it's more than likely whatever he's doing wrong/going to change is already causing him to have little power anyways.
  5. MLB Tonight starts at 9 CT on MLBN, conveniently right when the game will about be ending, so I'd imagine if we win they'd go there for some live shots of the celebration
  6. Damn, Bryant swung right through that FB
  7. Vs a LH starting pitcher in the playoffs I'd be fine going with Javy at 2B/3B and Zobrist/Bryant in the OF with Soler and Fowler the other OF. Other than that I think he should still be starting every playoff game.

  9. Punish them for Matheny's stupid decision making of letting Reyes stay in the game and bat there
  10. What the hell was going on with Contreras there?
  11. KB is about to go to Big Mac Land with one of these 97 MPH FBs from Reyes
  12. 17 YO Mexican MIFer that can hit He's iight, I have zero urge to expand his role beyond what it is. These are my thoughts on Javy as well. At least we shouldn't go into next year with any sort of plan where him expanding his role is Plan A.
  13. Yah, I want another shot at the super outfield when schwarber comes back. Don't wanna just plug in Albert. Agree. Schwarbs, Fowler, Heyward and Soler should be the primary OF next year with Bryant, Zobrist and Almora if he makes the team out of ST getting spot starts.
  14. I know it probably doesn't make sense or is the smartest move but I'm getting to the point where I just want them to re-sign Dexter the 3-4 year deal for $50-70 he's likely going to get this offseason.
  15. If you consider Hammel a dumpster fire then Jaime Garcia is at least a never ending tire fire. Garcia has given up 12 HR in his last 10 starts, 9 in his last 5 and 22 in 28 GS this year.
  16. I'm surprised at least 1 of Braun or Villar isn't in the top 30 for the Brewers
  17. Like they changed the name to something else or there's no award for best relief pitcher at all?
  18. Pitcher, then when his arm dies let him make the transition to a hitter
  19. He knew he was on national TV and Hendricks had overshadowed him for the night and he would have none of that
  20. Zobrist wants in the 20HR club on the infield
  21. KB, Rizzo, Russell, Dex and Georgie
  22. I feel the same way, I plan on jumping on them as one of my bigger bets of the week when I place my bets for the games this weekend. Their best DB is out for a few weeks, but still, 2.5? I just don't see them losing that game. If they only win by 1 or 2, I'll just chalk that up as a bad beat. Yeah I'd feel relatively okay laying up to about 5, they should win. Depending where the ML is when I bet it I may just do that, I see it at -130 a few places which I like but some are up to almost -180. So depends what my guy gives it to me at.
