  1. I know the numbers say otherwise, but Bumgarner doesn't scare me
  2. Bumgarner is leaving a lot of stuff in the middle of the plate and up
  3. Why do Reyes and Cespedes wear the neon green sleeves?
  4. The Mets offensive approach is sickening
  5. Bumgarner in line to go for a super Maddux
  6. Hopefully Syndergaard is over throwing and it has residual affects on him in game 3 if they win
  7. I just realized they haven't had their punishment announced yet for the hacking. Hopefully that happens soon
  8. We know they were trying to do things with his front leg/foot load all year. Whether you want to believe that was the only reason or one of the reasons is pretty hard to nail down. Maybe it's just that, maybe it's a combination of that, the wrist injury, timing being off, hand placement, etc. We don't know for sure, but I think the internet sleuths that looked into his swing with the toe tapping mentioned that his bat looked a bit wild/out of control as it went through zone (I THINK this was the conclusion) which was forcing a lot of weak contact. Apparently the toe tapping completely disappeared after his 4 day break in Colorado. There was an initial struggle, but the last 2-3 weeks of the season he started driving balls a lot more consistently so the hope is that he's re-adjusted to his old swing and is ready to kill it in the playoffs. I'm no expert, but it seems like as plausible an explanation as any for Heyward randomly dropping off a cliff offensively at age 26 with an OPS that was 70 points below his 2nd worst season and 160 points worse than last season. Oh I agree, if we are going with messing with his swing was the sole reason for throwing him off it likely started with the toe tap/leg load they were working on and then it had a fallout effect on the rest of his swing and timing.
  9. Lackey. This is a real crab juice vs. Mountain Dew situation we've got here. Getting this reference should be our litmus test for membership. Followed by a feast of Khlav Kalash for those who pass.
  10. True, plus if we believe the addition of toe tapping to Heyward's swing was a big part of his struggles this year, they are probably looking at a more productive Heyward at the plate this year. I didn't even read/hear about the toe tapping thing. Is that a legit reason to why he struggled? We know they were trying to do things with his front leg/foot load all year. Whether you want to believe that was the only reason or one of the reasons is pretty hard to nail down. Maybe it's just that, maybe it's a combination of that, the wrist injury, timing being off, hand placement, etc.
  11. Probably, but their defense was atrocious. Having Heyward in either RF or CF would have had a little bit of a trickle down effect and at least made their defense a positive out there if they went Grichuck/Heyward/Piscotty most of the year and also kept Wong in the infield where he was one of their better defenders at 2B/3B. Maybe that improved defense is enough to give their pitchers a little bit of a BABIP bump that they perform a little better.
  12. The only guy who can match him in his red-assery, Lackey?
  13. That's incredible, but pretty much confirms what guys like Law would say/joke about their FO, Amaro is horsefeathering idiot. The bigger problem (but advantage to us) is there probably still are guys in FO that are in decision making positions that don't see a problem with having no analytic dept. or budget.
  14. Duda not on the Mets roster for tonight, his back really must be messed up to not at least get a bench spot for a potential PH opportunity late in the game.
  15. Yeah, prefer the Mets but regardless would like the see Syndergaard/Bumgarner throw well over 100 pitches and see extra innings. Also hopefully Terry is so scared of getting blowback for what Buck did last night he throws Reed/Familia for multiple innings and over 30 pitches each.
  16. Liriano could be a pretty nasty late inning relief pitcher on the downside of his starting career
  17. I literally thought the exact same thing. Every new stadium/renovation should be required to have a roof (fixed or retractable)
  18. Seal Boy does seem like the kind of guy who'd dispute a check swing in a sim game. horsefeathering prick
  19. I'm either 2 or 3 in average per week but am 0-4. It's only an 8 team league and 6 make playoffs. 1 of the teams is trash so I am sill very much in it if I can go like 6-3, 7-2 the rest of the way. I also get Brady back this week. So I've been putting up big points with Flacco, Tyrod and Marriota as my QBs I'm glad I'm not alone in this. I am in a 12 team league and 8 make the playoffs, but I am already going to be 2 games out of a playoff spot despite having scored the 2nd most points in the league to date. Now that last weeks games are done and points updated in my league.... I've had 609 points scored against me, only 2 other teams have over 500 against them (everyone else in the 400s) and none higher than 520. I've scored the 3rd most points in the league and sit at 0-4. http://i.imgur.com/HOx5zgp.gif
  20. I'm going on a golf trip this weekend but have made sure I'm going to be at a bar for both games
  21. My league is 2 QB league too but PPR. Usually 130 gets you a win 75% of the time. I've scored at least 147 points in every week this season and lost every time. The last 2 weeks I will have scored 187 and somewhere between 165-170. I just looked it up, if I played every team in my league in every week and scored my LOWEST point total of the season in those games, my record would be 22-22. I'm either 2 or 3 in average per week but am 0-4. It's only an 8 team league and 6 make playoffs. 1 of the teams is trash so I am sill very much in it if I can go like 6-3, 7-2 the rest of the way. I also get Brady back this week. So I've been putting up big points with Flacco, Tyrod and Marriota as my QBs
  22. I'm in a 2 QB (then standard lineup otherwise) non-PPR league. Usually about 115-125 is good enough to win a week. The last 3 weeks my opponents have scored 147, 165 and 170 points while I've hit 118, 145 and 155. Cool stuff
