  1. I want to say I remember reading in the last 2-3 years he had to completely change his throwing motion/mechanics because the way he use to throw hurt/re-aggrevated his back injury(s)
  2. Obviously a lot of things need to play out and need to see exact seeding and matchups but that makes sense from what I've seen out of BIG teams this year. Purdue is the one team I'd feel okay about picking to win 2 games, if Wisconsin figures things out they could too but right now it's tough to see them winning more than one and any other BIG teams that get in.
  3. Reddick for 2/28-35 or 3/36-40 wouldn't be a bad contract, I'd probably look for a cheaper way to add 3 point shooting but would perfectly fine with Reddick at that deal if I were the Bulls/Bulls fan. Otto Porter is a restricted FA and shooting 46% from 3 but he would probably take $60-80 mil+. Likely cheaper options of guys who are 40%+ on 3% this year are Korver, Nick Young, Darren Collison, and George Hill.
  4. You have that wrong with this team... They will lose to the Nuggest by double digits but somehow beat the Warriors.
  5. Not the same but kinda the same. In high school our AD or someone was cleaning out a old storage room with some students, one of which was on the baseball team with me, they found the old baseball jerseys from the 70s or 80s that were the pull overs and elastic waist band like that and my friend decided we should wear them for a game for "throwback night," they appeared to be in good shape all things considered (this was summer of 2004ish). They turned out to be most uncomfortable jersey/pants I had ever worn, they were so much hotter than the regular button down jersey and normal pants and felt like your range of motion/flexibility was cut in half. We threw them in a dumpster behind the school the next week before a practice so we never would have to wear them again. I know, cool story.
  6. That seems like a very smart move. I love how Joe and the FO not only thinks about doing these things but actually implements them when there's probably near a majority of teams/coaches/FO around the league who wouldn't even entertain this idea let alone carry it out.
  7. i don't disagree with most of the logic here but i also don't think schwarber is going to sit vs lefties as a rule. i think when he gets days off, it will be vs tough lefties, but i don't think he's going to be in a platoon. Yeah I think Heyward and Schwarber will split time vs LHP, with Zobrist or Jay (neutral splits, iirc) in LF/RF most of the time vs LHP, unless one proves to be much better or awful vs LHP.
  8. To the fans that were giving Morrow horsefeathers who think #1 is a significant franchise number they probably should realize Rose only picked it because that's as high as he could count.
  9. The game against the A's tomorrow and the game Sunday against the Indians are on MLBN, fwiw
  10. 17 points on 4-18 shooting and 1-5 from 3 is impressive by itself
  11. You say that like there's something wrong with it. It's not, necessarily, more a joke on how mediocre at best that tattoo is that it was done by a friend.
  12. Well there were certainly extenuating circumstances about not using them there or much in the playoffs, I think if one or both were 100% at the time both would have come in ahead of Edwards and possibly Monty.
  13. Also having 3 high OBP guys in front of Zobrist hitting 4th, who's probably our best contact/low K guy, seems to be pretty smart
  14. Javy definitely seems like the type of guy who has a "buddy" who is a tattoo artist

  16. First, if we've learned anything from Joe it's that the lineup order is going to be fluid most of the season and nobody really has "their spot in the order" so I don't really think it's a big deal to get hung up on who hits where the first game of the year. Secondly I'm guessing the main reason to have Schwarber lead off and Zobrist hit 4th or 5th is to break up the lefties and righties so we aren't having multiple L/R bat back to back.
  17. I know it's not entirely apples to apples but this seems like a steal, he's been about as good or better than Cecil the last few years and he got 4/30 while only being 1 year younger than Strop.
  18. He better be praying hard to his dead relatives tonight thanking them for making this deal possible
  19. Those are the dumbest horsefeathering "cars." There's a guy who drives one around my city I see in the summer and he's the biggest douche I've ever met.
  20. Well right now the Cavs are the least healthy team in the East with no guarantee JR/Love can come back and be 100% when the playoffs start. Right now Love is due back right around the 1st round if there's no setbacks. Lebron is playing more minutes right now than he has in the past 2 years, he's right around 40 min a game over their last ~20 games and they can't totally afford to rest him if they want the 1 seed in the East with the injuries they have. I would agree it's incredibly probable they win the East and probably don't have any series go past 6 games at most. But you can see how they could be beat in the East and it's not going to take anything crazy happening, Love/JR not being entirely themselves, Celtics getting the 1 seed (forcing the Cavs to play better teams before the East finals) and the regular season min starting to stack up on Lebron that he isn't as rested as he has been going into previous playoffs.
  21. I disagree. They are vulnerable and the Celtics had opportunities, even if it wasn't adding Butler/PG, to take a shot at them and didn't. It's a combination of things but they are beatable in the East. If the Celtics were to take the 1 seed, Love doesn't come back/isn't himself, Lebron is logging major regular season min, Cavs have to go through at least 1 of Washington/Toronto to even get Boston which should be a series they'd get pushed a bit and have to try. The path to knocking them out this year is clear and the Celtics had the chips to put it in play but didn't.
  22. So they were probably asking for Brown and some combination of Smart, Bradley and Crowder? I'm pretty sure Boston would've given any 3 of those 4 guys for Butler if the Nets picks weren't included in any way. Find that tweet hard to believe tbh. I don't think they would in season, in the offseason yes. Getting rid of 3 of those guys kills their depth to try and compete in the East this year, if that's what it takes try and make it with what you have now and do the trade in the offseason when you can draft/sign the rest of your roster to make it more complete. IMO. Like I said in the NBA thread, if the ask in general was too much overall or just too much to really make the move now and still be able to contend this year I get not doing it for Jimmy or PG. What I don't get is not making a smaller move to upgrade for them like Willson Chandler/Gallinari or Robin Lopez where at most they probably have to give up their own 1st this year and Crowder and maybe some protected/2nd round picks.
  23. So they were probably asking for Brown and some combination of Smart, Bradley and Crowder?
  24. I'd be pretty pissed if I was a Celtics fan right now. I get maybe the ask was too much on Paul George or Jimmy, but they didn't make a signal move even on the margins with the East/1 seed pretty open right now for them. Even adding someone like Robin Lopez, Taj, Afflalo, Wilson Chandler, Gallinari, etc. could have moved the needle enough with Love out to get the 1 seed and make the Cavs have to go through Toronto/Washington before they'd get them in the East Finals. They are going to have to make a move eventually with their picks because you can't functionally keep all those picks on your roster.
  25. McDermont on the wing with Russ and Oladipo could be interesting. He will get to guard the worst wing player and should get plenty of open 3 looks with Russ driving.
