Schwarber stupid slide in LF and didn’t get a runner in from 3rd with less than 2 outs, Hendricks didn’t get 2 bunts down, Russell dumbassery at 2B, just an idiot suckfest
For Sale: 25 year old, right-handed hitting, super utility player currently hitting .276/.341/.512 in AAA Wanted: Dependable bullpen arm, closing experience not required, multiple years of control preferred
Obviously they aren't going to rush Darvish back, but this is a spot Monty could help as well. Yeah, hell even Eddie Butler wouldn’t be totally useless right now since he can soak up multiple innings. Even though I really think he died and they haven’t told us yet since there’s been nothing about him anywhere.
Yeah, I thought they’d hit and have a decent enough bullpen. But the defense, base running and rotation were lacking. I have little doubt they think Wainwright is gonna be a key bullpen addition when he comes back at this point. Which I’d gladly welcome. Also it’s annoying the Brewers won again but at least this series dropped the Cardinals even more.
Really gonna need Justin Wilson to step up while Edwards is out. Cishek and Pedro can’t do all the heavy lifting in the 6-8 innings and Cishek himself is already overworked. I thought we already could use another dependable bullpen arm even with health, now I really think we need one. It sucks Maples can’t figure it out with his stuff but whatever.
An amazing amount of their ineffectiveness is directly related to the dude running the show. He used their best guy unnecessarily in the game last night with a 5 run lead and then has to go to less reliable guys in a tight game today. He's just flat out bad. It’s part on Matheny, like last night but also that shows how few options he has to trust to close out that spot. It’s also a lot on the FO for assembling a pretty wretched bunch.
Brewers bullpen giving up runs, regression is coming http://i0.wp.com/thealternativehypothesis.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/4a88f2ffb6675015575c9141fcd4bc26.jpg?zoom=2&resize=500%2C331
Yeah, still a little nervous but he “should” be fine in the nearish future. After the workload last season kinda nice for him to maybe get a 2-3 week breather and save some miles until the playoffs. Plus it was pointed out in here he had this last year, didn’t miss a start that time (but maybe that was Rangers pushing him since a DL stay would tank his market) and he was mostly really good after that. Not the worst thing for Monty to get another start or 2 either to keep him kinda, sorta stretched out in case he’s needed again down the road.
That’s awful for those kids, but that’s a ridiculous thing to boo a guy over. And knowing Rizzo he’ll visit them in the hospital, if they are still there, or send them some gear and signed stuff.
