  1. GREAT horsefeathering QUESTION WHAT THE horsefeathers happ is a PH, it’s a 1 run game, there is 0 outs and the top of the order is due up. If you aren’t going to use him now you might never I wonder if that pickoff move earlier scared them off from using him
  2. Sucks we had to take him out but I think you gotta do it
  3. Big horsefeathering dick Jon. Putting the team on his back
  4. Based off the post I replied to and the other article today of it being based on how the playoffs go? If they want him to go fine, I’d completely get it. But the reason being how the playoffs go I 100% don’t buy. "gone if" does not mean "gone because" If they want him gone I think he’s gone. How the playoffs go don’t matter short of a WS win.
  5. It would seem to be very unlike both teams/FO’s to make their decision based off the postseason. Off other reasons, sure. But just based off playoff performances I find that hard to believe. I still don’t think Joe is gone unless he decides to retire. what makes you think it would be "based off playoff performances" in maddon's case? It's more likely (assuming this report is real, who knows) that they want to get rid of maddon but are wary of doing it if the cubs make an extended run in the playoffs again. Losing the division lead and then dropping 163 and the WC game at home would just allow them to more easily cut Maddon loose without too much scrutiny. 6. Regardless of tonight's outcome, I still find it hard to believe the Cubs would fire a guy 2 years removed from a World Series title and in the middle of a 4 year playoff run. The only way it happens is if the rift between him and the front offense is irreconcilable. He has 1 year left on deal, if there no interest in extending him, probably would be the best time to bump him and get someone else in now.. Girardi said he wants to manage again I’m sure he does, but he’s awful
  7. Brett from BN certainly thinks so Olney mentioned on his podcast today that there is speculation within baseball that Roberts and Maddon could be gone if they get bounced early. 8. Of course they were shifted right and the worst CF in MLB got that
  9. Could’ve been much worse, good job Jon. Now we go
  10. I’m calling complete BS. The source is Kaplan for one, two the FO is too smart to base a decision off a horsefeathering wild card game and three the candidates are horsefeathering ridiculous. Girardi doesn’t fit the culture they’ve built one bit, Derosa is a horsefeathering idiot and Ross will have no authority role over these guys since he’s still buddies with them. [tweet] [/tweet]
  11. that's not how regression to the mean works I’ll allow it.gif
  12. Worlds most hated and awful teammate, David Ross, has his stink in the building Lee Garner Jr made me hold his balls.GIF
  13. No reason to doubt the training and medical staff Pedro is 100% to go
  14. 1. Bote Dongs 2. Almora gets a big hit (opposite field triple scoring 2) I will also be taking at least 2 pre game shots of whiskey before this one
  15. Eloy and Torres are Cuban, aren’t they? And beautiful Jorge
  16. Would’ve like Heyward over Murphy (Zobrist at 2B) but overall like it. Win MF’ers.
  17. It would’ve helped the bullpen a lot and probably at least one of the position guys (maybe Schwarber and Heyward don’t get hurt, Javy certainly seems like he could use a day, etc) and with some extra off days we probably could’ve gotten an extra Kyle start or two and moved Monty to the pen. Could’ve been enough to snake out an extra win or 2 and that’s all we needed. Yes, in terms of squeaking out the division, sure. In terms of helping out the biggest problem by far in the stank second half offense? Probably not. More than likely yes, still think rest and getting the 3 days before the NLDS would’ve helped some. But not worth dwelling on the past. Figure it out for ~4 more weeks.
