I wonder how much, if any at all, of Rizzo’s terrible April was due to trying to adapt to Chili’s new approach. Im trying not to draw any conclusions from a short quote after back to back tough losses that ended their season, but I wonder if Rizzo didn’t just say horsefeathers it I’m doing it my way. Could have just been a crazy slump mixed with a bunch of bad luck too that had nothing to do with Chili. Wasn’t he crazy unlucky in the first ~30 games? Like all his underlying numbers were fine with LD%, where the ball was going, etc and was in line with his career? Like he was literally the same guy, just was hitting outs at guys and getting BABIP’d to death?
