  1. 99% sure the times are west coast times. Hmmmm... (not even Bryce related, just wonder what’s up)?
  2. I like to think they didn't provide Chatwood with any gear as he doesn't have a Cubs shirt/sweatshirt on and it's just what he wore to the park and he had to rummage through LaStella's old locker to find a Cubs hat and shorts. http://www.trbimg.com/img-5c632022/turbine/chi-ct-cubs-report35-ct0090942868-20190212/750/750x422
  3. Teams that are smarter than us and know how to turn spin rates in to real on field success and results, I suppose. That’s all I got. And his arm doesn’t have a lot of wear n tear on it. Who cares if he can’t throw strikes. He’s healthy. He has two TJS on his resume..... but yeah he’s presumably, currently healthy.

  5. Nick Hundley signed a minor league deal with Oakland and AJ Ellis took a front office job with the Padres. Going in to the season with Vic as the primary backup catcher makes me so irrationally angry.
  6. Don’t know exactly what all goes in to this stat or the validity but Monty had two of the top 5 pitches in MLB by it last year.... [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet]
  7. We should hire that doctor, seems to know more than Gryzlo
  8. This all ends up with them signing Cargo, Adam Jones, Parra, or Gomez.
  9. His power/counting numbers take a hit for a guy looking to build a HOF career and they’re in a pretty bad spot to compete. Still have a lot of money on old and horsefeathers players locked up, idk. It would have to be for a lot of not baseball reasons for him to want to be there. He isn’t winning anytime soon there and his numbers will suffer the remainder of his prime years. What are the actual numbers for left handed hitters in SF? I don't think its a bad park for lefties - it was designed for Barry after all. The park has been last in HRs all but 3 years since 2010, 2nd to last once, 3rd last once and 11th fewest another year. The park kills power, granted part of that is their roster but the stadium kills power. For lefties it gets deep fast to RF, it is fine dead pull distance wise but the RCF triangle is like 400+. Then there’s LA and SD in the division which are pitcher parks and Arizona isn’t the launching pad it once was now that they have the humidor, iirc, he does get Coors ~10 times a year though. Two examples, which admittedly could be meaningless but are two LHH who have spent their whole careers there, in their careers Belt is at 70 road HRs and 42 home HRs in only about 100 more road abs. Crawford is at 55 road HRs and 32 home HRs in again only about 100 more road abs.

  11. Unless they’re offering him a ton more or he really wants to be in the San Francisco area I just don’t see why it makes sense for him to go there. Of spots for him to go that affects us the least that’s a good spot for him to end up I guess.
  12. It won’t matter because they never will get a big FA while they are in NO anyways unless they luck in to another Davis like guy in the draft and he can recruit a guy. Also idk how much players and the league actually will hold this against them. Seems like a lot of guys and teams are sick of Lebron’s horsefeathers with trying to pull these deals off behind teams backs and colluding. There’s probably a lot of players that love this move to spite Lebron. i highly doubt that players would be anti-lebron in this case. the players want as much control as they can get. lebron is the most important person in basketball, and i don't blame him for using his power to get what he wants when his employers are always going to be doing the same thing. i don't like the way the nba has become about the top 5-10 guys choosing where to win, but i don't blame the players for it (except for kd, horsefeathers kd) Eh, I think guys are growing sick of Lebron and his horsefeathers. He’s a prick and makes life tough on his teammates. It was worth putting up with, with him in the east when you had guaranteed finals appearances and he was in his 20s/early 30s but that’s changing now. He isn’t guaranteeing you a finals appearance in the west and he’s getting old. It might not being worth putting up with for a lot of guys anymore. He wasn’t able to get PG, didn’t get Kawhi and his camp even said he didn’t want to play with Lebron, I bet there’s guys happy he didn’t get his way here. Will be interesting to see what FA he’s able to bring in this offseason or if they can pull off an AD trade. It’s LA and Lebron, he’s going to end up with someone(s) but will be interesting if it’s who he actually wants or backup plans and his preferred targets (KD, Kyrie, Klay, Kawhi) go elsewhere (like NY, Warriors, Boston or Clippers).
  13. Yes, this will be what keeps FA from going there. They will be in Seattle or Vegas in a few years anyways. i'm just saying that new orleans clearly comes off worse if they really did something like this out of spite It won’t matter because they never will get a big FA while they are in NO anyways unless they luck in to another Davis like guy in the draft and he can recruit a guy. 15. Guessing he’s essentially guaranteed a spot if he doesn’t get hurt or has a disaster ST with Posey starting the year hurt. But yeah, idk why the hell we didn’t do this and give him a guaranteed deal. Hopefully we still get Maldonado.
  16. The Vegas numbers are out already and they’re 88-90. I want to say

  18. Brinson blows
  19. Yeah for sure, I’d lean towards Fangraphs ones but don’t really care. I think 88-93 wins is a decent range for projections for us. PECOTA seems to put way too much weight on defense and framing. Basically if you are a good framer it loves the player and the team.
  20. PECOTA is complete trash. They project Montero to be the 20th best player in MLB this year..... Flowes and Austin barnes are in the top ~7.
  21. To reiterate, this is where I am. It's the perfect compromise. It's a compromise that isn't needed. Full DH forever. Right. The horsefeathering players are in favor of a DH. That should be the end of it. There’s no compromise or making it more complicated than necessary. The idiot fans who are vocal about this don’t matter because they’re such a small percentage of fans and nobody is not watching or going away because of this rule.
  22. What’s the late inning strategy after the SP is out that having the DH prevents from happening? The AL still pinch hits guys in matchup spots, managers still use multiple RPs there. It’s pretty much just the stupid double switch and that’s it? Or am I missing something?
  23. We’d be taking some combo of Cueto, Melancon And Samardzija back. In that scenario. I don’t think anyone thought we’d dump his whole deal.
