  1. It’s really too bad Mills doesn’t have options left starting next year. He’s a nice depth piece, he has major league stuff. But obviously don’t want to guarantee him a 25-man spot/be stuck with him there all year.
  2. Don’t know what Rizzo’s dumbass was doing there either. Get your fat ass on the base, don’t give him a moving target.
  3. And double switch Happ in for Almora while we’re at it
  4. Almora hits ARB 1 next year, he shouldn’t even be tendered a contract
  5. Can interpret this a bunch of ways but man he’s setting up that bouncing Maddon will be the big move with a few roster tweaks and adds and basically run it back, isn’t he?
  6. I like Indy, Rams, KC and Under In Bears-Denver
  7. And he wasn’t even that good vs LHP when he was good vs them and the success was still built on his garbage, unsustainable, profile of GBs and soft contact and no walks. He has no business being a MLB player for this team next year and hopefully he’s barely played the rest of the way (even vs LHP).
  8. .391/.500/.870 last 7 games Heyward is god awful against lefties this year and had been his whole career. While Almora is equally as awful against lefties this year, he’s traditionally been better against lefties than righties. Neither option is good, but Almora is the better one of the two today. Yeah and with a long plane ride yesterday and in the middle of 18 straight or something it’s not the worst thing to give Heyward a day off here. Almora still horsefeathering sucks and I’d rather have Happ or Bote playing over him but is what it is at this point. Hopefully Almora is PH for if needed in a big spot (let’s just score like 12 though so it won’t matter).
  9. Joe is definitely going to make sure he hits 7 more appearances to increase the option for next year.
  10. I get this feel from him too and don’t think whoever they bring will be allowed as much freedom to make uninformed/gut decisions and have to go more “by the book.” So if it’s him I’m guessing he’s told it’s not gonna be that way, but maybe he is a data driven guy and our impression is wrong. I mostly don’t want Ross though because, even with expected turnover, he will have played with a lot of these guys and I see it hard for him to be an authority figure with them. I don’t want a Girardi style guy but there’s times a manager needs to come down on dudes and I think when Ross would have to do it the message might not be taken seriously or get across to guys like it should.
  11. the Yankees did not have to give up a future superstar to acquire Chapman When they acquired him it was right after the dv allegations, from what I remember, and it was unclear how long he'd be suspended, so his value was extremely low at the time. His value was very different when the Cubs traded for him. The Dodgers had a trade in place giving up at least one, if not two, really good prospects for him like the day before the DV news hit and pulled the trade back. IIRC.
  12. Idk, gonna have to let it play out and see what the numbers bear out.
  13. Everyone knew the risk with that and it was an admitted overpay but we won the horsefeathering World Series largely because of it, I’m not second guessing that one bit (We has had two 20-22 year old MIF’s on the roster so it was a position of strength to trade from at the time). The other move helped win us the division and get to a CS and we also got either Davis or Roederer (forget which one) with the comp pick out of it, plus Soler had nowhere to play and is still just a 2-3 win player at max.
  14. Embarrassing, seriously send Joe’s ass out tonight then clear out the roster this offseason.
  15. Yup, Rizzo hit it. Bryant hit a fly ball to CF that’s deep enough for 95% of MLB players to go and score on but Rizzo was held up. Then Willy had a horsefeathers AB for a K then Heyward had a hard hit out.
  16. Him and Wick both should’ve had more opportunities earlier in the year
