  1. So the Brewers are going to win the division and the Cardinals get the wild card? Yes
  2. Jesus Christ Joe, why is Hamels hitting there??? He’s pitching like horsefeathers, he’s at 80 pitches and has third time through due up.
  3. What kind of contract does he get? Grandal's lowkey the modern prototype at C and just an badass player in general, if last year's and eventually this year's totallynotcollusion period puts him in the 2-3 year range maybe the Cubs should really be interested. Sets up Contreras+ for Betts (ha) if Boston's into it (ha) and they should be maybe (ha) He’s going to be 31 on opening day, I’d guess he doesn’t get more than 3 years guaranteed as a catcher. Obviously is there’s a Contreras centric deal for Betts you do it, but if we aren’t going to bring Nick back shifting Willy to OF full time and bringing in Grandal is a nice way to supplement what Nick has been.
  4. Hamels is horsefeathering broken, everything is up. He can’t locate anything down since he’s been back.
  5. Paddack is probably on a pitch count so just try and have him out by the 6th
  6. Oh I think that’s very likely and I was thinking of an offseason today where that’s the case that I’d still like and think this is it.... move Willy to RF full time, sign Grandal, trade for Manuel Margot (platoon in CF with Heyward) and send Almora out, Happ, Bote, Nico and Kemp are the “bench bats” but Nico plays plenty, add one of those many SP for the 5 spot who won’t cost a lot and one decent bullpen arm.
  7. I think alot his duties will be aimed towards identify the guys worth pursuing at the ML level, all of who were probably prospects while in his previous role for the Cubs That works too
  8. McLeod is still pretty highly regarded as a scout/executive so it will be nice to have his skills being used on the major league team with the day-to-day stuff. I take it to mean being in charge of shifting, lineup construction/usage, advanced scouting, etc type stuff which is clearly something we’ve been lacking for a few years now.
  9. Oh I think that’s a big part too, which is exciting they’re making changes on the player development side. Eno Sarris recently had an article saying he was hearing multiple teams were going to be making sweeping changes to player development sides of their organizations.
  10. Would assume this is a way to keep other teams away and also may be the first steps of the Theo succession plan. Keep elevating McLeod who becomes GM when Jed becomes President of Ops when Theo is gone in a few years.
  11. Pretty big shift for him from the development to Major League side.
  12. Other than giving Cishek too big a leash I thought he handled the bullpen fine last night. He’s had far more worse games this year when it comes to bullpen usage.
  13. I’m sure you can find his slash line against in various counts. That would seem to prove or disprove this theory (which seems right and is probably right in general for pitchers but maybe affects him more since he doesn’t have pure swing and miss stuff/velo for when he has to come in the zone).
  14. Even if he’s trusted he shouldn’t have that leash. Wieck, Underwood, Norwood, Mills, and Hultzen were all available. Pedro and Holland too but they suck too much to be used there.
  15. It was so refreshing to see the offense battle like that only to have the defense and pen blow it. Would’ve been a huge win, gonna miss out on the WC completely you horsefeathering losers if this horsefeathers continues.
  16. Can’t wait for Kintzler and Cishek’s soft tossing, junk balling asses to go. Even the shitty ass Padres have every RP throwing 96+.
  17. horsefeathering Kintzler and Cishek, my god.
  18. Definitely. It elevates everyone’s role.
  19. Kintzler wasn't good but pitchers are going to give up runs. Zobrist just made a bad throw to second. I know butterfly effect and all, but even one out there probably saves 2 runs. I just hate Kintzler and him running in to some rough outings with his contact management was long overdue. I hope he’s relegated to mop up duty soon to get ahead of the regression. And yeah Zobrist screwed horsefeathers up too.
  20. horsefeathering Kintzler you horsefeathering bum
