  1. We’ll probably beat the Cardinals just enough to let them backdoor the division and then it’s Nats-Cardinals WC.
  2. Wonder how high we can reasonably climb in draft position over the final 10
  3. I’m almost positive they have a better record without him than with him this year
  4. I don’t think making sure one of your 3 best hitters gets the most ABs is doing the pitcher a favor, Smoltz. horsefeathering moron.
  5. The only thing more predictable is that he’ll be a fringe major league player next year and slash like .210/.280/.360
  6. Getting beat by Edman and Bader, nice job assholes
  7. Bang up job by the brain geniuses not considering running different bunt defenses tonight with a cripple at 1B. Who could’ve seen that coming. Just stick Rizzo’s ass at 3B on bunt plays and have KB or Zobrist be the 1B charging with the other at 2B.
  8. Yeah. I think organizationally they’re improving and fixing a lot of things they had clear issues with or got passed by on, which is encouraging to see them be proactive. Even if they don’t hire Boddy you’d assume they’re going to bring in a guy(s) in a similar mold.
  9. LMAO dealing with it for weeks! The management and use of injured dudes continues to be the most confusing thing about this team.
  10. Not to mention that no one will sign until February Castellanos, especially, seems like the classic case of a guy who signs like 2 weeks before Spring Training. If he’s shooting for 5+ years and $100+ million he’s going to be hanging around for a while.
  11. This would be a massive get. Arguably a more impactful move than any player movement this offseason.
  12. I just want this to be over. Bring on the offseason.* *Even though I think they largely do margin moves and roll with the core again next year. Don’t think the big shakeup move is happening, they’ll just try and build a more well rounded roster.
  13. A lot of that is just baseball being baseball, maybe we do a little more of it than other teams but every fan thinks their team does it too much. Missing Javy for ~20 game now has impact, don’t know how you can think otherwise and missing him and Rizzo combined for the final dozen or so definitely matters. Again it’s not the main reason, but it’s a contributor (especially in the final month here). But it’s the shitty, .500, play with a flawed roster, poor lineups and bad moves from Joe from May-July that has us in this garbage spot more than an injury in the final ~20 games. Don’t be a bunch of assholes for such a large chunk of the year and you can probably survive and still get in the playoffs dealing with something like this.
  14. That will definitely be brought up, probably by everyone. The injuries to Hamels, Baez, Rizzo, Bryant, Willy and Kimbrel certainly played a big role in likely falling 2-5 games short here. It’s hard to argue they didn’t, I also think turnover is coming and Theo knows he has to do better. the point is that they will have blown it to the brewers without yelich. baez/rizzo is a bigger combined loss, but I dont want to hear about injuries if the brewers come back on us again without their superhuman player. Well you’re going to hear it because it is partially the reason for falling short. Javy missed the final 6 vs the Brewers (we won 1 of them and they had Yelich for all them). Now no Rizzo too. The injuries I mentioned to all above are a factor, they aren’t the main factor but it’s going to be rightfully brought up.

  16. How so? If we lose we probably have to go 8-2, 7-3 the rest of the way with 5 of the wins needing to come vs the Cardinals to get in, which seems incredibly unlikely. The VBs schedule sets them up much better to play 1 game better from here on out for the WC. Because baseball. It's pointless to try to project a 10 game stretch of games when bad teams beat good teams all the time Sure, but it’s hard to see us getting in going 5-5 or even 6-4. Especially since some of those losses would be vs the Cardinals who the Brewers could jump for the division and then the Cardinals jump us for WC2.
  17. If we lose this one I don’t think we are making the playoffs in any variation (Division or WC). hot take How so? 18. Huh? If we lose this one I don’t think we are making the playoffs in any variation (Division or WC).
  19. Somehow get out of this only down 1 and we got a chance. But this is pretty much the season if we lose.
  20. I’d assume Norwood comes in after Votto
  21. He’s been worth +4 DRS there this year and just made a nice play before that. He’s a solid defensive 2B
