  1. I think I’m okay with this move. Mitigates risk a bit and elevates the floor. Senga or Thor as a FA and Lopez or Glasnow (he’s making a start this week at hits final year of arb in the offseason so Rays being Rays may not want to pay him) as a trade target (sure other guys will pop up as being available like Snell) would be fine for me.
  2. Or Darvish That’s ideal
  3. Snell took a no hitter in to the 7th vs the cards and is hitting 97-98 on the FB. He makes $16 mil next year and then is a FA, with their LT situation I wonder how available he may be this offseason.
  4. I really like the idea to add Bellinger, assuming he’s DFA’d/non tendered. He plays a damn good CF, had the LHH bat we need to add at least one of, doesn’t overly block anyone as he’s certainly taking a 1 year deal, also gives to 1B protection if Davis, etc are up at one point next year. He’s a very nice target, imo.
  5. LMAO. Longer/Alternate view of the incident. Couldn’t happen to a better guy.
  6. While I get letting him get the feet wet sentiment and leaving on a good note, the dude needs innings. He’s been given plenty of leash and walking a fine line with the 40-man crunch coming and knowing exactly what he can or can’t be. I’d assuming he’s pitching somewhere in fall/winter to build up innings for next year.
  7. Yes, please. Senga, Correa, Conforto, Seth Lugo, Smyly back, backup C (assuming Willy is gone), some sort of cheap 1B insurance potential and a vet bullpen arm or two please.
  8. Lol at trading PCA for 1 year/pending FA of Devers. That’s insane. PCA should only be used for a guy controlled longer or in a Ohtani deal as a pending FA guy. And I’m perfectly fine moving him but Devers ain’t it.
  9. That Madrigal news Kick that little man out of here
  10. I’m onboard for those changes.
  11. Wesneski’s slider is nasty, it’s like Marmol
  12. NFC East: Eagles Cowboys Giants Commanders NFC North: Vikings Packers Lions Bears NFC South: Bucs Saints Panthers Falcons NFC West: 49ers Rams Cardinals Seahawks AFC East: Bills Pats Dolphins Jets AFC North: Ravens Bengals Steelers Browns AFC South: Colts Titans Texans Jags AFC West: Broncos Chargers Raiders Chiefs Bucs over Eagles Bills over Ravens Bills over Bucs
  13. There is a certain segment of the Bears fanbase on twitter that is convinced we are actually going to be pretty decent and they flood any tweets that are down on the Bears with replies talking them up. I can see a scenario where a bunch of things go right for them (Fields is so good he's able to make teammates better, Poles is an offensive line savant and the line is actually decent, Eberflus has a Lovie style impact on the team, good injury luck, easier schedule), but I still see them as a 5-6 win team, with the ability to win as few as 3 or as many as 9 games in the most extreme outcomes. And that's fine for this year I guess. I want the team to be good and be good quickly but it was never constructed that way IMO and even if they are bad there are things I can definitely look forward to watching. Very similar to the Cubs this year as we knew they were probably not good, though there was a narrow pathway where they could have been decent, but regardless there are things worth watching even though they are bad. Yeah I get being excited, especially with maybe a young franchise QB, but I just see to much downside/lack of talent for them not to be a bottom ~8 team or so. But don’t think they’ll be the worst. Texans, Seahawks, Falcons, either of the NY teams, Jags, Lions, Panthers I think are the clear bottom 8 teams in some order on paper then throw in a team or two that has bad injury luck or like Miami having Tua suck (I think he does), Browns sucking without a QB, etc.
  14. I think the Bears are going to be bad but yeah, idk if they’re gonna be that bad.
  15. And Ross is insanely bad at managing it. He tries to get these guys to go 1+ all the time since he’s been here and it largely backfires.
  16. If the goal of all these changes is to increase action and push star players, why is not giving the stars more PAs and also improve offense a bad idea? There are better ways to do things. Move the mound back, make a limit on the number of pitchers on a 25/26 man roster. Don't make it a different sport. Lol, moving the mound back is making the game a much more different sport than simply eliminating one spot in the lineup. Plus, again, they seem to want more action/push stars, etc. getting the stars more PAs and optimizing lineups does that by eliminating a spot in the order/using DH for position player. Moving the mound back does what exactly? They also already have the limits on pitchers on the roster (plus 3 batter rule) and idk how much more you can limit. Pitchers get tired/hurt all the time, you need some cushion there for teams to make sure guys aren’t being ran in to the ground.
  17. I like this new schedule, wasn’t there some series recently where the visiting team hadn’t been to that stadium in like 12 years? It’s good for fans of teams in other states to go see their teams more frequently.
  18. Now that the DH is universal, an idea I like is cut down the batting orders to 8 guys. Then you can DH for a position player if he’s a horsefeathers hitter but good fielder. Also it increases PA’s for the star players and should have more action then since you don’t have the horsefeathers backup catchers or whatever of the world taking 3-5 PAs a game. That's one the worst ideas I've ever read. If the goal of all these changes is to increase action and push star players, why is not giving the stars more PAs and also improve offense a bad idea?
  19. I’d still like to know why they think shortening games will bring in more viewers. It also shortens the commercial/ad time, so that’s a revenue loser. I don’t buy there’s x thousands or y millions of people out there that will watch or attend more baseball over games being 20-30 min shorter. The commercial breaks are in the same spots they always are - between innings and pitching changes - so I don't think that part's an issue. Like you, I remain skeptical that casual fans are waiting to watch baseball in droves if the games are two and a half hours 162 times a year instead of three, but as long as the actual gameplay isn't being negatively affected I'm not against it. Now that the DH is universal, an idea I like is cut down the batting orders to 8 guys. Then you can DH for a position player if he’s a shitty hitter but good fielder. Also it increases PA’s for the star players and should have more action then since you don’t have the shitty backup catchers or whatever of the world taking 3-5 PAs a game.
  20. They aren’t over the LT this year with Trout, Rendon, Ohtani, Upton and Pujols on the books? And they never hit it with that period of Wilson, Upton, Hamilton, Pujols, Trout overlap?
