  1. Ref had a perfect angle to call that PI.
  2. That was more fun than I was expecting.
  3. Brenly on Harper getting ejected by Bucknor: "I don't even need to see that play to know who's wrong" I do love him when he talks about umpires.
  4. How does a third baseman miss that catch? That's a perfect throw
  5. I wish we'd have set odds on what Bob's response to Ramirez running all out on a ground out to avoid the double play and score a run would be.
  6. Mather warming up in the pen. I want this to happen.
  7. I'm not sure when I last heard such a small crowd give such a loud, sarcastic cheer
  8. I'm fine with Brenly. He could be better, but the chances we find someone worse are pretty high. Also, he supports robot umps.
  9. take a look at the radar. This isn't coming back soon. I'm surprised they didn't call it.
  10. Colorado really has shown some terrible play to lose these two games.
  11. Error for a great throw? I love that stat!
  12. Rizzo, Castro, and Jackson all had positive days batting and in the field and Volstad gave up no runs? That's a 2012 success.
  13. Fangraphs has his walk rate at 4.7% this season and 4.9% last season. So not quite. Fangraphs doesn't update during games, right? He's got 25 walks, so that could be the difference
  14. I think this guy was trying to screw with the organist More good news, on a day where Volstad gave up no runs?
  15. "Volstad has hit all his spots" and the next pitch goes far enough over the batter's head, Clevenger almost had to jump.
  16. Are you channeling Aramis Fan here ?? Is he negative about the weather or something?
  17. Doesn't look like it will be more than 40 minutes before the heavy stuff reaches Wrigley Ha!
  18. This was the first preseason game I got to watch the first team in, and while I really appreciate the big receivers (really, a huge difference. Don't know how to describe it), meh. Bad Oline, poor Dline, still useless secondary. Cutler isn't 2003 Manning. Yes, I'm going on the record here at 8-8.
  19. If you're not worried about the guy you just aquired who was worth $15 million while being paid $21 million and will only be paid more while presumably not becoming more talented at his age, you're a fool. The Red Sox are selling him because of his presumed production two-plus years from now. He doesn't just have to bounce back for it to work for them, he needs to bounce back to his age 29 state at age 34.
  20. On SOSH, they are hearing that the Dodgers will pick up 96% of the salary coming from Boston. I definitely think this is a good trade for the Red Sox, but I'm surprised the Sox fans aren't more upset about losing AGonz after all the fanfare his arrival brought 2 years ago. I know he's underperformed a bit but the dude is still a great hitter and young enough (well..he's 30) to be a contributor 2-3 years down the road. Would you have bailed on the Soriano contract in August 2008 if the Cubs were out of it and not likely to contend in 2009? If you could get a return and not pay most of the contract? Alfonso Soriano would have been 33-year old Alfonso Soriano in 2009 as opposed to Adrian Gonzalez being 31-year old Adrian Gonzalez in 2012. This doesn't seem like the best comparison. It's two years for a cheaper player, although the money comes sort of close to a wash with the 4 year difference. It's not all that different. Gonzalez is in the middle of a poor year for him while Soriano was in a good year.
  21. Nah. The time to try that wouldve been weeks ago. They didnt allow a sack. This was probably the best pass rush we'll see all year. Webb and Spencer will get by. Yeah, because Cutler is far too used to running away from DEs that run past the line unblocked.
