  1. To get it reduced, which won't happen...manager suspensions almost never get reduced. I thought the meeting was to determine the length, and that people are just speculating it's going to be 5. That's what I thought too and now after reading that article I'm pretty sure it's just speculation by Dave van Dyck that it is 5 games. I think it will probably be 3...but it won't surprise me if it's 5.
  2. Wait...so MLB has already made their decision? So what's the point of Lou being given his chance to defend himself later today?
  3. It's worked out? LOL...have you checked the Cubs record lately? Have you bothered to even look at the umpteen responses refuting your claim? He's got better avg, OBP, and SLG with no one on base than he is with people on or in scoring position. He's more comfortable batting leadoff and it is so far down on the list of issue's this team has. I'd rather take soriano with a .350 OBP in the 1 hole with theriot with his .331 OBP in the 2 hole or 7th spot (if pie sticks at 2) over putting that .331 OBP in the leadoff with soriano in the 5 with a line of .268/.321/.474 It makes us worse in 2 spots in the lineup. Look, I know what the numbers say but something needs to be done with our black hole of inconsistancy lineup. With the way the lineup currently reads if Lee and Ramirez don't drive the runners in, and they sometimes don't, you can forget about it. Going by your logic why not have Lee batting leadoff with his .424 OBP? Sometimes teams have to think outside the box. As others have said, paying $136 million for a leadoff hitter borders on insanity. Fits the Cubs to a tee.

  6. i heard on espn radio today that the fat bastard was told by the third base ump that lou kicked him and he relayed that on to mlb. in an interview with lou before the game he was specifically asked by the media if he kicked him, so i think that's the contact in question Yes, the Atlanta broadcasters today were talking about the kick to the leg by Lou and they showed a replay that showed Lou's foot making contact with the 3rd base umpires pant leg on the first dirt kick. It was a very slight kick if it even went through the pants to his leg. At worst he barely tapped him and it's pretty obvious that it was NOT intentional. I have to think since they suspended him right away that he's going to get more than one game. I'm guessing that it will either be 3 or 5 games which is complete BS. It's BS he got one. So how many games does Froeming get suspended for. He actually pushed him. :x 10 years in the electric chair I hope.
  7. You win. Soriano's spot in the order is not the problem, or even a problem at all. And moving him in the order to put Pie of all people in the leadoff spot would be an awful decision. No one (at least not me) is saying Soriano's spot in the order is a problem. It's just that we have another player (Theriot) that most likely can get on base as much as Soriano. It's a waste of resources to have a guy with his power potential batting leadoff. He doesn't hit as well when not hitting leadoff. Bunk...a hitter will hit.

  9. If I was Trammell I'd retire now while I'm undefeated as a Cubs manager. The only place to go from here is down.

  11. Amazing what some early run support can do for a pitcher.
  12. Graon...how long have you been waiting to type that?
  13. what can you get for him? he has no value to anyone. trade him for an A-rod bobblehead doll who cares a box of capncrunch some celery anything Can we throw the GM into that trade mix?
  14. Note to self: Do not pick up Cormier for my fantasy team. PS: Jones sucks.
  15. And it was a strike from Milt Pappas you fat @%@$%$!!!
  16. Why doesn't Lou ever give the grand slam sign?
  17. I'm surpriosed that ball didn't hit a bird flying over and fall into an Atlanta outfielders glove.
  18. COOL. A single with the bases loaded and we don't score.
  19. Hope they score before Jones comes up. Inning over if they don't.
