  1. haha Chris Young plates two; that's it for me. Watching this does nothing but make me miserable.
  2. What's the tally now, 3 runs in the last 50 innings?
  3. As well they should. Nobody should complain about it either. This team has it coming. I understand the fans have a right to boo, but booing a team that is already pressing incredibly is pretty ignorant. Its not like these guys arent wanting to get hits, score runs, and win games. Booing them does nothing, as Im sure they are pretty embarrassed with their play without the fans making it worse. Home is where you are supposed to be able to go during rough times, and receive praise. If you can't boo a team for a performance so bad that it's starting to approach historical levels, then when can you boo a team?
  4. I know it's still relatively early and injuries are partially to blame; however, I can't recall a World Series caliber team playing a stretch of baseball as bad as the one the Cubs are currently involved in.
  5. Why do I waste my time watching this? It would be really interesting to find out the last time a team gave up 8 or fewer runs in a series and still got swept.
  6. With Peavy pitching tomorrow they might not be scoring until Saturday.
  7. This is becoming so embarrassingly pathetic.
  8. Agreed, there is no doubt in my mind that the farm is on the way up. It's not all that exciting at AAA or even AA, but the lower levels have lots of guys who have potential.
  9. I'm really confused by this guy's numbers. Before today's outing he had more walks than K's ,10/9 in 30.2 IP, and he gets more fly outs than ground outs. Is there anything that points to his numbers being sustainable?
  10. Making a pitcher of Piniero's caliber look like a CY candidate is really frustrating.
  11. 57 pitches through 6; that is so far beyond pathetic.
  12. That's a good way to get his pitch count up and Lilly swings at the first pitch.
  13. If Lilly ever figures out how to keep the ball in the park he's going to be a really elite pitcher.
  14. Vitters picks up another single; it's his third hit of the night. This puts him at a .374 avg two points behind the league leader/teammate Josh Harrison. (.376)
  15. If there was ever a time I thought a team might be throwing the game, it would be this one. How does Joel Piniero get through 4 innings with 38 pitches?
