I'm having a hard time placing a value on Bellinger. I think it's probably 50/50 at this point if he opts out. If he doesn't opt out, I'm not sure he has positive value at all. If he does opt out he has decent value. Maybe a 45 guy. Depending on how much the Cubs eat, it make bring a good secondary piece too. -
Yeah if Tibbs and Moore are gone, I'd be fairly disappointed. I'd still have no issues with Cam Smith or Yesavage, but I prefer the other two. By the way, I'll be kind of shocked if Honeycutt lasts until #22.

This '24 class is loaded. Illinois already had #24 Morez Johnson coming, they recently added 1st round draft talent Kasparas Jakucionis and now they're adding Riley who was the #11 in the '25 class but is reclassifying to '24. I can't recall the last time Illinois added this much premier talent. They've also already got a '25 commitment from #33 Jeremiah Fears.

I just read he left his 2nd start in a row early with undisclosed arm discomfort. Also, Kikuchi is the perfect pitcher to pick up if you're chasing Soto. He'd be on a short term deal and the upside is there, but there's enough uncertainty where you could probably get him on a 3/45 or 2/36 deal.

Perhaps not quite .600, but if they want to get to 86 wins they need to go 50-36 from here on out which is .581 pace. If it's 84 like last year that's .558.

Why get Alonso when you can probably get JD Martinez from the same team cheaper and he's a better hitter?

Crochet would be in the bullpen by the time the playoffs came. He threw no innings in '22, and 15 innings in 2023. He can't go from 15 innings over 2 years to 180IP this year unless you want his arm to be useless in '25 and '26. If the Orioles wants to go for it all, then go after Tarik Skubal. He's only coming off 80 innings in 2023 himself, but that's a lot better than 15.

It was bad, like really bad. A few teams did well. The Cardinals destroyed the draft with Jordan Walker, Masyn Winn, Tink Hence and Nate Burleson. The Braves got Strider which is a huge win on its own The Orioles also destroyed the draft with Kjerstad, Westburg and Mayo

I noticed you missed the, it's bit too early in regards to 2022. With that said, that's also somewhat true of 2021. Wicks looks like he he's a solid bet for a #4/5 with a chance at being a solid mid rotation starter. BJ Murray has kind of tanked this year and you're probably looking at bench player upside at this point. Triantos is the wild card. He's going to hit, but his inability to play defense pretty much anywhere is a severe issue and will his bat be good enough to compensate for that. Is it anywhere near as bad as '19 or '20? Nope, but as of right now it's more just OK than anything.

I don't know that I've ever seen splits as absurdly different than what Jeff McNeil has this year He's a borderline Allstar away from Citi Field and a guy who should be DFA'd immediately at home.

8.14 K/9, 5.55 BB/9, 4.10 FIP and 5.19 xFIP. That 1.85 ERA was a total mirage.

Bored at work and I know Jed wasn't officially President until November of 2020, but good god so many terrible drafts. 2019- The only guys who are still relevant from this draft that are still Cubs are Hunter Bigge and Porter Hodge 2020- Luke Little, that's it 2021- Jordan Wicks, James Triantos, BJ Murray and arguable Drew Gray/Zac Leigh 2022- It's a bit too early to judge but realistically the only interesting guys are Cade Horton, Brandon Birdsell and Nazier Mule They haven't drafted an everyday position player since Nico in 2018

Completely random thought while I was looking up the history of 1st round catchers. Damn, the Cardinals completely destroyed the 2020 MLB draft. At #21 they got Jordan Walker, who despite early struggles still has big offensive upside. They got an all star in the making in Masyn Winn at #54, A top 30 prospect in Tink Hence at #63 and an everyday regular in Alec Burleson at #70. -
