I just get the sense that the other players know he doesn't belong there and this will cause angst among them, especially if a player is left off the roster who is truly a Dominican in favor of A-Rod. Latin countries have a lot of pride in themselves, and manipulating a player to play for you isn't very prideful, imo. I also don't believe A-Rod has ever lived in the DR. My family is Swiss, but I wouldn't play for Switzerland in an Olympic event or Soccer per se, I would be part of the USA. Having parents from a nation does not make him eligible in my book. If he were born and raised there and came over to play baseball, my opinion would clearly not be the same.
  2. If I was from the Dominican, it would bother me to have a fraud of my team. Everyone knows A-Rod is from the US and he played highschool ball in Miami. If I was a Dominican player, I would be angry at him for finagling his way onto "my" team.
  3. Who is Tommy Craggs? I was just wondering since his comment is spot on.
