Dave Duncan makes bad pitchers good. My question has always been, how come none of these guys can take their adjustments from Duncan and continue being acceptable after they leave STL? It seems to me that since Duncan was a catcher, which is kind of rare for a pitching coach, it's not adjustments in mechanics he makes so much as adjustment in approach. Maybe that's harder to carry with a pitcher.

Even more ridiculous: May 8, 2008. Randy Johnson strikes out 20 batters in the first nine innings of an extra inning game. But because the game goes to extra innings (and even though he doesn't pitch in those extra innings), he doesn't get credit for tying the record for most strikeouts in a game.

I think that the sooner cubs fans stop obsessing about the stupid cardinals, the better. if it takes some cardinal condescension to get it to happen, im all for it. agreed. They're a decent team. They're not as good as the Cubs, but they might be good enough to get to the playoffs and then get lucky. That's all.
