  1. No joke. almost as bad as http://www.modestapparelchristianclothinglydiaofpurpledressescustomsewing.com/ The pic of that kid playing PS3 oblivous to the nutbars surrounding him should be on billboards throughout the south.
  2. Who the hell cares? Give Colvin time, he's Patterson without the legs or the glove.
  3. In other news, Mikhail Gorbachev not considering a return to politics.
  4. And for the record when Lee is inevitably traded, I see no reason not to give Soriano a long try at first. IF he could handle it, that move would be ideal.
  5. Where's old Chuck Cubs bringing rationality and calm demeanor in the form of onion gravy recipes and Corey Patterson idolatry when we really need him?
  6. It's not ignorance. Some folks take this Cubs [expletive] way too seriously, but they're forgetting it's entertainment. A diversion. For those of us with real problems, having to rehash the same arguments ad infinitum that we have for the past four years about the FO and their incompetence gets pretty old. I want to enjoy Cubs baseball, not get pissed all the time and argue the multitude of reasons why Hendry should've been unemployed for years now. When a new regime is in power, I guarantee the posts, hits, etc. will increase. A lot of us are sick and tired of repeating ourselves. If anyone should be actively rooting for Hendry/Lou et al.'s departure, it's guys like Tim and Al Yellon. Catapult this FO and watch the interest soar.
  7. It's been an astonishingly quick fall from grace for Jack Z, even if the pre-season prognosticators who picked Seattle to surprise were off-base from the start.
  8. Soriano was an obvious mistake, but as Meph and TT have illustrated, Z's hitting capabilties are enough to make him equitable with guys like Carpenter, Oswalt, et al. most years. Not saying $90 mil wasn't too much, but he's a unique and elite talent. Soriano isn't.
  9. "Cubs looking at 'Silva' lining"
  10. Grinderball
  11. That's the best scout Stark could get to return his calls? Team speed? I can only imagine if the NFL still lived in the same dark age that most MLB FO's seem to habitate.
  12. Thank the lord and sunny Jesus. Even a month more of the media fellatio on this guy would have been intolerable.
  13. Agreed, but I'm guessing Ricketts didn't get to where he is in life by following the herd. Might as well hope he can make some lemonade out of the lemons he bought. It's a pretty sad state of affairs when you have to hope for the worst case scenario just to get rid of a problem that all of us have seen for the past five years.
  14. Screw all this infighting, doesn't anyone else see the silver lining to this nonsense? It's not gonna be the blatant disdain for statistics, the bonehead quotes, the awful drafts, or the Soriano mess that'll do Jim Hendry in; It's Milton running his mouth. This offseason is the first time I can recall Jim Hendry taking heat from all corners of the media, and right or wrong, it's because of Bradley. So please Milton, continue to spout your idiocy. And please Carlos, show us how awful you truly can be. Because if that's the straw that finally, finally breaks the camel's back, and hastens Hendry's termination, Milton Bradley will have earned that $30 million.
  15. If this team finds itself falling out of contention, i hope Ricketts won't be gunshy about sacking this entire lot of dinosaurs. I mean "good luck charm"?! Really? You know what would be better luck? Someone who can still make positive contributions on the field, where the [expletive] game is played.
  16. As you said, "most" fans & "most" criticism...The ignorant hate spewed about Shark's potential & success is so contrary to fact it reeks of the aforementioned agenda. The subsequent rage against me for pointing this out is telling as well, lol. I didn't mean to get anyone upset, it's tough times out there. If hatin' on millionaire professional athletes helps them with their problems, so be it. If people actually are interested in Shark's situation, just read up on what he's been doing since the end of last season. What did he work on with Rothschild?!? What 4 pitches is he working on with 1 of them being unhittable in his last start for the Cubs & in Mexico?!? What were players saying about that have seen him in the majors & in the MWL?!? Couple all this with his extraordinary potential, newusername & all Cub fans certainly have legitimate hope that Shark can be a quality major league pitcher I had nothing to do with this
  17. I saw that listing on the DVR guide. ESPN Classic can eat me. Highly doubt they could possibly be that hungry. Love that sig. What part of the south did you say you were from again?
  18. Well it sure as hell better bother the people in power. Junk like Dubois has no place on a team with playoff aspirations.
  19. For damn good reasons. Might as well include Caminiti and Gagne by that logic. Not saying Garciaparra was a juicer, but even arguing his induction is absurd. Jim Rice was bad enough. It's going to be a farce when guys like Damon and Pierre become eligible.
  20. It wasn't meant as a slight against him; he was certainly abused. But some guys' bodies can handle it, others cannot. No amount of "nutting up" or similiar nonsense can make him do something his body is obviously incapable of.
  21. On the other side, it could be argued that guys like Prior and Nomar were fortunate to last as long as they did considering how fragile their bodies have proven to be.
  22. To do what? Scrub the toilets? Millar is finished.
