  1. Yeah, I apologize. I was being an ass. My only complaint with you is the knee-jerk reaction stuff. You're no ARCubsFan. agreed. i honestly like almost everyone on here even if they are infuriating at times. at least the ones that appear to be cubs fans... NSBB right now: http://i.imgur.com/tHdUgNM.jpg I think we've had a breakthrough guys The challenge is keeping it that way.
  2. But... but... we're not allowed to score with a runner on 3rd and less than two outs!
  3. Hammel has been very meh his last six starts (not including tonight): ERs: 5, 2, 3, 4, 3, 4. IPs: 3, 6.1, 5, 5, 6, 3.2. These are numbers I'd expect from a number four starter, not our game three starter in the playoffs.
  4. Hammel was having a decent start, too.
  5. Shocking on both accounts. "hey everybody i was going to say something patently wrong, but then i looked it up and realized how completely wrong i would have been" Glad to see an effort to improve my kneejerk tendencies is met with ridicule. My bad. I shouldn't have met it with ridicule. In fact, things would be much more pleasant if you continued to do so in the future. So me doing that was Busch League and to my own detriment. Thank you. ^_^ I'm honestly trying to improve my posting habits.

  7. I wanted to say that it feels like we barely get big hits with the bases loaded, but we actually have a .810 OPS with the bags full.
  8. Ugh. Really? That's as fast as you can run, Hammel?
  9. I know! I spit out my milk when I saw it.
  10. Damn, we're scalding the ball tonight.
  11. One of the outs was with the pitcher batting, but, yes, one of our hitters struck out. God forbid. the cubs have a line of .244/.341/.411/.753 with runners on third and less than two outs. rondon fan and ski certainly have a higher failure rate with their posts than the cubs do with runners on third and less than two outs. Hahaha. Isn't that about identical to their overall batting line? overall is .244/.321/.401.722 bases empty is .241/.308/.399/.708 in conclusion, ski and rondon fan are clueless (nothing new there) That's fair enough. We've had horrible luck in that situation for the past week, it feels. Hence the frustration.
  12. That was one of the easiest choppers I've seen in a game. Good lord, Castro.
  13. We probably get screwed on just as many defensive gems as any other club, but it sure doesn't feel like it.
  14. The ump's positioning was pretty shitty, admittedly.
  15. How are we THIS bad with runners on third and less than 2 outs? Jesus Christ.
  16. holy [expletive] are you serious? this dude is amazing he never ceases to amaze me by somehow managing to shock me with the ridiculousness of the things he says and it's all genuine I guess it depends on how you define "worst." Was it not the most frustating, at least? Between the bad send in the 8th and Berry getting thrown out by a cold catcher for the first time in 26 attempts in the 9th, the Cardinals had absolutely no business winning this game. We should be 4 back. And if you want to take it farther and count those other 3 BS games, we should be no more than 1 back. The 2nd game of that DH sweep in July was the only game you can argue we "stole" from them, I guess. They've now stolen four. no, not even close. it's the most INFURIATING loss for the rondon fans and skis of the world...until the next time they lose. everyone here on this site was probably pissed for a moment and then you remember it's baseball and that on on top of that, the cubs are actually good this year. I get upset in the heat of the moment and let it go soon thereafter. As a whole, I've loved this season (though moreso the second half) and I have a disproportionate tendency to post mainly when bad [expletive] happens, something I'm trying to fix. It'll take a really crummy loss to top this one.
  17. I'm just more disappointed that this is finally the Cubs' year, and we've had solid chances to pull closer to the division lead late in the season, and lady luck has bitchslapped us in favor of the pixie dust Satan worshippers. It feels like we deserve it more than anything else (and yes, I know this isn't objectively true, that we have to fight tooth and nail for everything we get), and yet the Cardinals keep getting breaks handed to them despite having fifty year's worth of balls bounce their way in the last five years. Also, hello, lurkers from GRB! Hope you're enjoying the salt show in progress.
  18. Five, I think. The 5-0 first inning game. The game Strop blew in the 8th. The Peralta HR game. The other game Strop blew in the 8th. And now this one. And the Cubs have NO fluky [expletive] wins against the Cardinals this year in... 18 games? Un [expletive] real. The Peralta HR game is hands down the worst loss of the year, imo. But I wouldn't call it fluky. Strop giving up a HR to Greg [expletive] Garcia was horsecrap, though. Walkoff home runs are fluky by definition. A relatively rare event for any given player in the perfect situation. Even 30 HR hitters have a 5% HR rate.
  20. WHY DOES LITERALLY THE FIRST TIME BERRY GETS CAUGHT STEALING IN HIS CAREER COME IN THIS SPOT. This is the newest most infuriating game of the season. Un [expletive] believable.
  21. I keep wanting to complain about the amount of [expletive] that's kept the Cubs from the division lead so far (fluky losses against the Cardinals and them playing at a 100 win pace despite loads of injuries thanks to a historically high LOB% rate), but that's baseball. There's no one to blame except the fates, and bottling up rage is only going to hurt you in the long run.
