  1. We've only had 8 innings to score at least one run, guys.
  2. Why do you swing at that garbage, Castro.
  3. Less GIDPs, more doubles with runners on base, please.
  4. You're in giddy 'Holy crap that would be awesome' speculation mode. I know the feeling. ^^
  5. The Pirates have been rather whiny today, haven't they?
  6. Starlin is pretty good, but he strikes out and hits groundballs sometimes so he's horrible. (Kidding, of course).
  7. To be fair, we've left seven men on base, are on the verge of making that nine stranded, and we've choked in two man-on-third-less-than-two-outs situations. That's a bit annoying.
  8. Oh come on. I'm sick of the Pirates stellar [expletive] defense.
  9. This team isn't good at making contact. Why do we put on hit and runs?
  10. Why the hell was he running there?
  11. Back? They're, like, last or almost dead last when it comes to getting a guy in from 3B with less than 2 outs. Someone respectable posted that a week or two ago; something like 42%. Not just that, but getting big HITS with multiple runners on base. It happened a ton in August when we were scoring runs in bunches, and the past few weeks, not so much. I don't give a [expletive] about that; that's going to fluctuate all the time. The bigger problem is stranding what are basically gimme runs, and they were doing that at an above average rate even when they've been scoring runs in bunches. Yeah, that's annoying too. I asked this a few weeks back, and no one responded, but is it that hard for a big league hitter to learn how to swing for contact in those situations, or would that mess up the rest of their approach?

  13. I mean, the way the last few weeks have unfolded in those situations, I don't expect anything in that spot anymore.
  14. And we're back to forgetting how to get clutch hits.
  15. Not that this really means anything, since both great and horrible teams can strikeout a lot, but the 2015 Cubs have the 3rd highest team strikeout rate since 1969, at 24.4%.
  16. Then you're a [expletive] unfathomable moron Herrera has a K% of 17%. Soler's is around 30%. We don't care about power in that situation. Tying the game was all that mattered. I know that we just lost on two strikeouts, but believe it or not they are not an all encompassing pit of doom. For example, the same abilities that lead to Soler striking out more also lead him to have a huge advantage in not making outs. Also, Herrera's weak bat is going to bridge that K gap significantly with a higher likelihood of weak contact that doesn't score the run. Also Melancon's cutter and curve would probably eat Herrera for breakfast like it did Montero. Thank you for the pointing that out. Feels better to be told why my argument is flawed than to be called a [expletive] moron and nothing else.

  18. I would have honestly considered pinch-hitting Herrera for Soler there.
  19. I apologize for the freakouts, but Christ, we need to execute in a huge spot like that. Imagine if this happens in the WC game.
  20. Our strikeout rate is no worse with a guy on third and less than two outs, but holy [expletive], it feels like 75%.
  21. DON"T SWING AT [expletive], YOU [expletive] SCRUBS. JESUS.
  22. Please don't jump on t his guy. I think we're all a little peeved right now after seeing this [expletive] all season.
  23. For [expletive]'s sake, one of the biggest moments all season and of course it's a strikeout. Jesus [expletive] Christ.
