  1. Yes, the worst. Can you tell me a worse outfield making equal to, or more then 40M a year? Soriano: 18M Fukudome: 12M Bradley: 10M Oh my god....seriously. For the last time, saying the worst offense in all of baseball is so much different than saying they are the worst outfield in baseball "making more then(it's 'than', but whatever) 40M a year." Guess what, they're going to get paid that amount no matter how they perform. We all know how much the players are making. At this point in the season, it has absolutely nothing to do with how they are performing. The contracts are signed, the checks are already written. So, basically, we have the most overpaid, non productive outfield in Baseball? Neat! :banghead: I love how those two terms apparently are related. Most overpaid? Probably. Worst production PER SALARY DOLLAR? Almost definitely so far this season. But worst production when you look at straight up statistics (no, salary is not a statistic)? Highly doubtful so far this year, and almost impossible for the rest of the year, given past track records. Ok, wise ass, I'm well aware of that salary isn't a stat. But don't give me this track record crap when it's beyond obvious that Fukudome is just terrible. Nothing at all has changed with him from last year. Furthermore, Bradley has put up his numbers up when he's been in an atmosphere where the fans and media don't give a rats ass (Can you stay with me now? Meaning no pressure) like we do here. And Soriano is just a bad all around baseball player who is declining. Have you noticed all of the injuries he's had here as well? I've looked at the stats and yes, there is not one outfield that is as piss poor in all facets of the game. (That would be offense and defense).
  2. http://i.a.cnn.net/si/2007/scorecard/01/24/brushback.cubs/hendry.jpg "Obviously, they are not very productive".

  4. Can he be worse? Fukudome hit about .140 with 3 RBI'S for the month. LOLOLOL!

  6. I know they can't send Soriano or Bradley down, but what about Fukuwaste-of-money? Seriously, why not just put Fuld out there and send this guy down. We are stuck with the worst outfield in Baseball for TWO MORE YEARS after this. Hendry has completely screwed this team. I would send Fontenot down as well and just let Scales suck up here just a little less then Fontenot.
  7. Haha! Get em, Bob. " The Cubs make up more ground with rainouts then any other time". It's now ugly, folks.
  8. The whole team is basically garbage, but Soriano is the biggest piece of it. Weeeeeee! No runs again. We might have the most expensive outfield in Baseball and it's without a doubt, the worst.
  9. Their problems scoring go WELL beyond Soriano at this point. He is the number one culprit. You have a leadoff hitter who NEVER and I mean NEVER ignites a rally to start a game. What about the leadoff hitter for the other 8 innings tonight that "NEVER" ignited a rally? Two words: Eighteen million.

  11. The Cubs are about to be blanked for the EIGHTH time this year and we're not even at the 81 game mark. LOLOLOLOL!

  13. Len and Bob, like us, are just exaseperated. Ron's going to start screaming real soon as well. I do feel Lou is not getting through to this team and it's translating to the on field suckage. Something needs to be done like yesterday.
  14. He'll never shut up, will he? For that matter, has any organization shown more of an obsession towards another one then the White Sox do our Cubs. It's very comical. From the players, to the front office and their fans, they just have to talk about the Cubs. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/whitesox/1644640,white-sox-ozzie-guillen-cubs-062909.article
  15. Corey Patterson, Eric Patterson, Felix Pie and Brian Dopirak called. :-"
  16. 40 million per season for these guys. The Cubs pay these guys, on average, over 13 million per season. Haha! A pure genius GM we have.
  17. Okay, that's actually a good point when you explain it that way. Again though, it's not as if he's the one making draft decisions. He's hiring/employing the people who are, though, so ultimately it does fall under him. Although your ire should be directed elsewhere if your biggest issue is the draft. It's the snowball that keeps getting bigger because of the ineptitude that I have a problem with. The drafting has been terrible, which causes him to throw money at bad free agents because of the mistakes under his watch in the draft. I see what you're saying. But ultimately your problem is with the people that fall under Hendry on the org chart, not Hendry himself. Right? True. However, Hendry is the GM and he obviously has substantial say so as to the picks. How SOMEONE hasn't been canned with the state of the farm is beyond reason. Hendry's the boss, which means it falls in his lap.
  18. So you don't think there's been any kind of turnaround in the last 3 drafts? That remains to be seen. I am most impressed with Josh. But seriously, to have ONE PLAYER make any kind of impact in the last4-6 years is laughable.

  20. Hendry is being called out for the horrid condition of our farm system, which causes him to shell out ridiculous contracts to the likes of Soriano, Fukudome, Bradley and Miles, just to name a few. If we had any semblance of a farm system, we wouldn't be spending 40M on one of the worst outfields in Baseball. The drafting by/under Hendry has been a flat out failure.
  21. Hendry, is that you?
  22. Fast track: Tell me about Hendry's great draft record over the years. This should not take more then, oh, 2 seconds.
  23. LOL! So because he threw money at every free agent under the sun this makes him a good GM? Good one! Yeah, the Cubs sure went on a spending spree during the 02/03 offseason, didn't they? LOL, indeed. How about this: You do realize the trade that put the 2003 team over the top was the Ramirez/Lofton trade, right? Tell me, if the Pirates weren't in salary dump mode, do the Cubs sniff the post season in 2003? I think not. Thank the Pirates. So Hendry gets no credit for acquiring the person who is now the Cubs best player? Got it. It's all because the Pirates wanted to dump him. I've got news for you, there were other clubs in talks with the Pirates that year. Hendry was the one who presented the best offer, which is why the deal was made. You're out of your mind if you think otherwise. The Pirates WANTED to dump him? How about HAD to dump him? Hendry lucked out, plain and simple.
  24. And tell me about all the great drafts during his tenure, which is really the point of this thread.
