  1. Hate how his was managed after the leadoff double. Should have bunted w/ Dero. Now we wasted multiple guys and Marquis is forced out.
  2. The tanning booth? Ha! Either there or the closest Don Imus look alike contest.
  3. Yup. I have heard that Jimbo goes into full Prior bashing mode after a few Whiskey waters. Wasn't there a pretty revealing piece on some website about a luncheon where Hendry went off on Prior and was very candid? I seem to recall that from a ways back. Yeah, it was on Hire Jim Essian. That's right. I remember reading it, but never being sure if it was all true or not. I remember reading that and cracking up. I also have a friend that won some silent auction for a private dinner with Hendry (and one guest)... I think this dinner happened in 2004. So I guess it was jut the three of them at Maggiano's or something, and Jim was shockingly candid about his thoughts about current and past players, near trades, and of course, Prior. My friend told me that Jim threw down cocktails like a young John Belushi, mixed in a f-bomb every other word, and repeatedly called Mark Prior a Fing P***Y. Pretty great stuff if you ask me.

  5. He was a big reason why the Cubs made the playoffs last year, not that it mattered much once they got there.
  6. Anyone see this? Hilarious! http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2008/06/03/sweet-lou-did-not-tell-the-googles-it-was-okay-to-put-him-on-a-m/
  7. Thanks Karen! Those links were very helpful. I am sure all of us will have a blast... can't wait.
  8. Because if wood had given up the run in the 8th what would Marmol had to save...

  10. Lefty up, no one on, throw the Fing fast ball.
  11. Thanks! Good stuff, think I'll stay right near the Rogers Center for sure. Do you know anything about the Toronto nightlife? Are we going to want to venture to other parts of the city, or is everything we need right by the stadium?
  12. You must go to an establishment called "The Brass Rail". You'll thank me later. Definately not to be confused with the Silver Rail which is their upstairs establishment - keep it ground level and you will be fine...unless you like that sort of thing...not that there's anything wrong with that! What sort of thing is that? Do they relegate hard-alcohol to the Silver Rail bar upstairs, with only beer available on the ground level?... That MUST be it :). Question for you buddy... Is right around the Roger's Center a good area to go out? We are thinking of staying right by the stadium. Any areas that we must check out or go to have drinks? Any input would be well appreciated.
  13. Did Berkman just catch that with his back fat?
  14. Anytime your pitch doesn't break it's going to get killed. That was definatley a mistake.
  15. Despite his problems, Gallagher has some lively stiff tonight.
  16. That's a DP if it doesn't hit Gall...
  17. Ha. You forgot gets picked off first.
  18. Very hard liner right at him. He's playing shallow, runs in a few steps, realizes it's about to go over his head and makes a kind of awkward jumping catch. Gritty from Theriot! Correction.
  19. WGN and Comcast. Love ESPN's production quality, can't stand most of their announcers. If we could get Mark Grace for every ESPN game that would be my #1 choice by far. Hate WCIU because they seem to go to that behind the catcher shot every third pitch. THAT DRIVES ME CRAZY.
  20. You must go to an establishment called "The Brass Rail". You'll thank me later. Looked that place up online... Seems like they have a very friendly wait-staff. In years past I have had good luck running into Cubs players out late at night in away cities. It was almost a guarantee to see that amphetamine popping M. Alou, the steroid popping meathead Farnsworth, and the hit-on-anything-that-moves sex addict Todd Walker out at 3 am in some strange city. Not sure which Cubs on this year's team are likely to be out and about late night pounding drinks. Anyone have any ideas. Perhaps Fontenot & Riot???
  21. Hater. Yup... And isn't he a cancer survivor???
  22. Love that good Ramirez body language after the swing.
