    So is there actually a chance this will turn out well for the Cubs? It was a fluke. His minor league numbers are the same as his major league numbers. He's never done much over a larger sample size.

    But who plays 3B next year? I feel this would just keep up the trend of robbing our offense of power. It seems like we'd be trading something we lack (power hitting) for something we have more than enough of (speed and young pitching).

    I'd do it for Jered Weaver, McPherson and a prospect. I really don't want to sacrifice any good players on offense, so I'd only do it if they were willing to over pay (a lot). BTW, what happened to McPherson? He was so good in 04 (40HR between AA and AAA).

    What's the scouting report on Shaver? I always assumed he was a control/finesse pitcher, but he has a fairly decent K rate and a higher walk rate than you would expect for that type.
