  1. WALK a mile in my shoes... hopefully, Sean "walkmeister" Gallagher will have better control in his next start. Nothing ticks me off more than 'walks turning into runs'...it almost happens every time. Let us go Cubbies!
  2. This would suck if a loser pitcher like this, beats us today.
  3. Damn walks! Unbelieveable. Why didn't Soto, Blanco, or whoever our catcher is for today--- why in the heck, didn't they go out to talk to Gallagher to calm him down?
  4. I can't watch, Wood is about to step on the mound. If he blows this save, then I say it's time for Marmol! Don't blow it Kerry.
  5. Okay, I'm feeling better now. Another run wouldn't hurt especially with Wood on the mound in the ninth. I still say that Marmol needs to be our closer. I hope and pray this aint a repeat of the last game against Milwaukee.
  6. I aint never been a proponent of makin a trade just for the sake of makin a trade but man, we have got to do something! Pitching is the key to the success of our season. I like Back to Banks proposal for acquiring Millwood and Bradley. I'd make that deal.
  7. Not a bad idea L.L.F., what were his numbers while he was up with the White Sox? God know we need help with middle relief right now.
  8. Yeah. I'll probably steal the local library's. >_> Naughty, naughty.
  9. He was born in Cuba? Woa. Wonder if he ever met Fidel?
  10. Yeah he aint that bad lookin. I wasn't sure what he looked like. How many of you old timers remember him?
  11. No but good idea smack.
  12. ...find an old avatar or picture of Oscar Zamora? I think my dad said he pitched for the Cubs in the 70's. Does anyone has his stats?
  13. You'll always have 2005 Neil. That's too bad, I was pulling for Neal Cotts. Hey L.L.F., please do us all a favor and don't try to imitate Hawk Harrelson. I can't stand to hear him call a game.
  14. typical. kicks sand in your face IMB, you are one strange dude. You are about as weird as Go Cubs go.
  15. He was probably the fastest player in the system (although I think Pie beat him in a foot race), so the guy was a good athlete and had some potential in CF. Wow. I guess, he just couldn't hit. I kind of lost track of him but I was looking forward to him progressing through the system. Oh well.
  16. brilliant response-- not. pwed pff.
  17. brilliant response-- not.
  18. C. Walker? Is that Chris Walker? I think it was last year or maybe a couple of years ago in a spring training game, that he made the greatest catch I ever witnessed in person. He jumped up, and with arm extended over the fence, robbed a Seattle Mariner (?) of a home run. If that's the same player, he's quite an athlete.
  19. With regards to all of the Brian Roberts rumors, I didn't know if this article had already been posted. This is my first post on nsbb. "The Internet rumors don't bother young Cubs pitcher Sean Gallagher. He threw last Friday at the Minor League facility, and there were several scouts watching, including one from the Orioles. It's nothing unusual for Gallagher, who pitched in the Arizona Fall League last October. "They don't call it the Arizona Fall League -- they call it the 'Arizona Scout League,'" Gallagher said. "It seemed like every other game we went to they had a scouts pool. It's 60 to 70 scouts out there". http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080316&content_id=2431369&vkey=spt2008news&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc
