:P I think he'll wait until the 4th-5th before he starts plunking people...outta hope he could pick up a w... that being said, yanked after the second hbp in the 5th, 7 so, 1 er, and a big ole "L", 1-0.
How many do we have now? Walker Hairston Neifi Bynum Theriot That's 5. Did I forget anyone? and thats why we need Buck to play 2nd...(I believe Pedro was being sarcastic-hint hint)
seems to me the last power hitter at a pos of need that described a desire to play in wrigley is now playing on the south side...(ah hem THOME) Hendry wont pursue him..I dont have faith...
one way or the other, Hendry is seriously wrong. look at the pitching the reds pay for, Hill is right in step with Arroyo, Milton. yeah, arroyo sucks. he's average at best, and having a very good start to the year, but he isnt a Carp or Zambrano
as far as i know, hendry never said that he wouldn't trade hill for dunn or that hill was untouchable. you could be right, and the "untouchable" part of this thread came from my vague memory of people saying that... buuuut...if he had the oppertunity...
I'm still not sure if Dusty made the decision or if Neifi did. Where were the advanced scouts on this one?!!?!?! Were they not paying attention in the first two games of the series? Ryan Zimmerman is one of the best defensive third basemen in all of baseball. Why the bleep would you bunt it to him...especially with Neifi, who is NOT a speedster?! dude, we just didn't get the breaks, man.
we were so naive and innocent 3 weeks ago Wow... I'd forgotten about this thread. And to think, I had hope for this team at one time. welcome to Cubdom!!!
http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060518&content_id=1460008&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc Responding to the bolded part "He can play the outfield" "He can pinch-hit" "He can pinch-run" He can do all those things, but yet he can't get picked up by any of the other 29 MAJOR LEAGUE teams. If he was a free agent that they landed in the offseason, at least they could argue that other teams might have had interest in the guy and they were lucky to get him. They plucked him off the scrap heap. No one else wanted him. So, it makes all the sense in the world that the Cubs would sign him and bring him up real soon. The only thing left to hear is that he was signed to a 2 year deal at 2.5m a year and it will be a thing of beauty. This is just funny now. I hate the cubs.
I have a question, WHAT DOES AGE HAVE TO DO W/ANYONE IN MLB???????????? I dont care how old a player is, if he was hitting like Poojoes, I would sign him in a heartbeat its fun to tease Card fans about it, but seriously, who cares??
I'm going to leave Micah's Q & A open until this Sunday night. If anyone would like to send a message to Micah, feel free to post it here. go Micah....I think its great to see him do well.....
