  3. heres a video of the hit, and it doenst look like anything vicous at all. the video is abit choppy.. http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/av/avRPPlayer.jsp?dr=16414&kj=13&f2=8/4:
  4. Thre is some truth to this. But seriously, this eppisode is entirely indicitve of how the Cubs run their team-or Baker for that matter. Brian makes an excellent point-why not play Izturis @2nd? If he understands the position, why mess with Cedeno? and if you are hell bent on switching Ronny's position, then why wouldnt you play him there THE FIRST oppertunity you have (Tuesday) and stick by the kid? OOORRR how about a minor league stint to learn the position? nope. Baker freezes his bat and when Ronny trips, baker and the media (Tow-The Line Sullivan) jump down his throat. The real story for Friday was teh offense still sucks. imagine that.
  5. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-060804cubsgamer,1,3685188.story?coll=cs-home-headlines some gems: and maybe it because: genuiss that Baker is.
  6. wasn't Orel Hershiser (sp?) #55??? why is he dancing around in circles?? thats weid
  7. man i miss the days when I thought the Cubs were up and coming. that Guitteirez (sp) play still brings tears to my eyes. hearing Caray scream "He's out...NO SAFE CUBS WIN CUBS WIN CUBS WIN!!!"" that was fun.
  8. shouldnt you be in Uptown or something???? :P
  9. hooo hum. sometimes I wish we could "feed" Hendry through IV READ IT JIM, JUST READ IT
  10. yes it was. thats when I liked him as a ballplayer
  11. Other than the pitchers, Neifi is a big joke. fixed. yes..yes...I agree, Neifi isn't ON this team
  12. GO MADDUX GO!!! Ima Dodger fan til the end of the season, kids. I wanna see Maddux pitch in October.
  13. regardless of his future numbers, its good to see a "good guy" play well. I wish him all the luck...and so does Dave (my bro-in-law)
  14. welcome, btw
  15. Where did you get those numbers? Ohman has a WHIP of 1.00 vs lefties and 1.64 vs righties for a 1.35 WHIP overall. oooooooooo........a SABERMETRIC fight.........I cant wait to see this go down..... :P
  16. I dont think he will. He would have to stay that hot all the way though August for him to overtake Sanchez (assuming Sanchez continues to hit well). I would LOVE to see him do it, tho.
  17. considering he never has thrown one, I agree. but hey, look on the bright side, we got Izturis :x
  18. I saw give him a contract. LEt him work out of the pen if hes willing. let him build his arm back up that way, to a closer, or maybe eventually back to being a starter. I still have hope he could pull a John Smoltz. I dont know if Kerry will ever be Cooperstown material, but I do think he can still lead this team, even if its from the closer tole. And so we have an overloaded bullpen. Cant we make a trade (Demp, Wuertz, Howry) to dring in a strong mnor league bat?
  19. Fixed your post. fixed again. I guess this is my point: how many different ways can we point this stuff out before it gets as redundant as Baker's stupidity? as many times as Baker is stupid...infinity I guess Well, then...I guess I'm just not going to take part in it anymore-all these things are a given, and to harp on the same thing over and over and over again is pretty much a waste of time. I think I've read the letters OBP about 8 million times over the last couple of days. I sometimes wonder who the truly stupid ones are: Baker/Hendry for being so consistently and obviously blind to certain baseball aspects, or us for being so blind to the fact that we can't change that. Both of us feel the need to fight the same fight day in and day out. I, for one, am over it and willing to accept this regime for who it is (a fundamentally flawed philosophy) and just hope for the best for my team. If this were a marriage, then we could file for divorce, but we are Cubs fans. What are we to do? Root for the Sox? I'd rather stop following basebal altogether.[/quote] =; thats pure blastphemy

  21. You know, I guarantee, if management said to Gooz, "We want to give you thursday's start, but we just can't figure out how to get you from Nevada to Chicago in time," Gooz would offer to buy his own plane ticket. or sprout a set of wings and flap to Chicago if he had to. I'm sure he could find a way to get there
