  1. hmmm..so thats why we didnt resign Berrian: http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2008/03/briggs_agrees_to_deal.html#more 55 54 together again http://www.kffl.com/hotw/nfl
  2. the #'s the news up here reported were 6 yrs, $20 mil garanteed. thats not far from Angelo offered. If they were that close, what stopped the Bears? the garanteed money? seems like BB got a resonable deal. Angelo offered 8 million in guaranteed money. If Berrian really received 20 million guaranteed, the two sides weren't even close to the same ballpark. 1) I cant spell "guaranteed" 2) I'm really not sure what I heard on the news. But $20 mil over 6 years is $3.3 per year guaranteed. IDK how the Vikings structured the contract, or howmuch more is possible in the contract, but that starting point doesnt seem like alot to me. 3) It worries me more that his replacement wont be someone of any known caliber. Bradley? I was a huge fan of the draft pick, but he hasnt done anything and cant seem to unseat the terrible BB "who isnt worth the money". Walker? The guy is a about kin to a Civil War Vet by now. Moss? no way we spend that money. I am just frustrated. I would be happier if we were in a Fitzgerald sweepstakes, but Angelo is just sitting on his hands.
  3. Stallworth + Edwards + Winslow wow.

  5. 2 days 2 long grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I'll live.
  6. exactly. they seem to be ok with picking up scraps at thispoint. like someone earlier wrote, this season is a rebuilding one. I dont believe in rebuilding.
  7. awesome. so BB is a Viking, and we are excited about replacing him with Bryant freaking Johnson. Its going to be a long season.
  8. there wasn't anyone to throw him the ball in chicago either The medicore QB situation in Chicago is still better than the absolute crap known as Tavaris Jackson. sure about that? tarvaris: http://www.nfl.com/players/tarvarisjackson/careerstats?id=JAC566507 rex: http://www.nfl.com/players/rexgrossman/careerstats?id=GRO597298 I would probably take Jackson over any of the Bears' QBs last year. If for no other reason than Jackson is younger and isn't injury prone. he isnt?
  9. pfffft..your just saying that cuz he's the enemy ;)
  10. I have a very bad feeling about BB going to the Vikings
  11. what makes you think so? (other then what might seem possible or probable?) http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/huddleup/2008/02/piniella-hendry.html awesome thanks

  13. 1) the Bears offer was a pretty fair one 2) who in gods green planet is going to give him a Branch-like deal? David Haugh is absolutely convinced the Bears must pay whatever it takes to keep Berrian. These beat writers must have an in with Bernard or something. What is the logic in feeling forced to keep your best receiver at all costs in order to maintain your offensive production when your best receiver has never put up good numbers and your offense has always been poor? Of all the sports, the NFL demands that smart teams do not overpay players, and it has been shown repeatedly that free agents are relatively easy to replace. There are very few irreplacable players in football - most of them are quarterbacks. Very few play receiver. David Haugh is a man who speaks as if his tongue is too big for his mouth

  15. on the bottom line ticker on ESPN, they scrolled something about the Bears being upset with the 49'ers for contacting Briggs too soon. did anyone else see that?
  16. it would appear JA never intended to franchise BB http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/cs-080221chicago-bears-bernard-berrian,1,2012216.story lets hope Olsen, Bradley and Clark are big int he offense next year. also, the offered Grossman a contract
  17. I guess in my point of view, unfortunately right now he is our best option @ #1.
  18. I agree. And the Bears could still take another solid WR prospect possibly in the 2nd rd. idk, with the WR FA market this offseason as it is, your looking at a guy who has abot 1/2 the production as BB and will likely command a simular salary as BB. I'd just stick with who we have. I think a major problem is a lot of people apparently think Berrian has had about twice the production he's actually had. He's done very little in the NFL for him to be thought of as a #1 receiver. Very little. what makes Johsnon a better bet? http://sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/396163 BB almost 2x's prduction http://sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/492890 I still rather stick with BB for our #1 then Johnson

  20. idk. Johnson doesnt impress me. just give BB his money. if he doenst perform as if he is worth it next year, let him go. in the meantime, work with Bradly and drafting.
  21. well, that sucks about briggs. dont know what to say about BB. and BA? go find your money then. you really arent a starting LB.
  22. BB needs more work on his part, but he could be qute abit better then mediocre.
  23. his days are gone. good luck, but lets move on.
