  1. http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/08/07/chris-williams-out-for-the-year/ Don't know how reliable it is, but sure doesn't sound good... :( awesome. leave it to the Bears to draft a LT int he 1st rd only to have them loose him for the season with and injury before he even practices. in a tackle rich draft even. I thought the Williams pick was solid. man. I was way off. man this burns. Angelo should ALWAYS trade his #1 for as many 3-4 rds as he can get. just take the 1st out of his hands
  2. It's supposedly unrelated to the back spasms Williams had earlier. Time to move Tait back over. Bears look to be getting close to reacquiring Miller at RT. Some sources say Williams is out for the year. I say put Williams out there because the lien is going to be lying on their backs after a second anyway. At least we will be using out well-paid LT to lie on the ground and get trampled on. Fred Miller is a horrible idea. start an undrafted rookie if you must, but never Miller. dude is a turnstile
  3. how long is Williams going to be gone?
  4. all for it You start posting there and ill follow I started.....Game Threads...
  5. reeaaally? how so? maybe in public opinion, but Orton can be just as volitable as Grossman, and they have virtually the same contract. He wasn't talking about contract. He was saying that Kyle's highs aren't as high as Rex's, and his lows aren't as low as Rex's. fair enough, although they both have lows that make me cringe.
  6. Well, seeing how Theriot is the SS, and DeRo hasnt played SS this year, yea it could be bad. Although Cedeno has done pretty decent lately. I dont care....lol
  7. NY Giants. 2007-8. I don't mean having a QB that fans/media didn't believe in. I mean a team entering camp not having a clue who their QB was going to be. Eli was the QB from the start no matter what the fans wanted I was under the impression that Eli was under the microscope, and in general was replying to the idea of "controversy" more so then "battle". The thing is, the Giants proved that a team can win with QB as an "issue" at the beginning of the season. I dont think too many people in NY (or the org for that matter) really thought Eli was going to take them to the promise land (for ref, refer to Giants/Vikings game 2007)...but he did..or kept out of their way at least. Fair enough, but a large portion of the time it's a team with a great QB who is lifting the trophy. Having that top QB is the best way to cover the most sins, IMO. Trouble is, finding that guy proves to be difficult for clubs like the Bears. finding "that guy" is difficult for every club. does anyone really thing Rogers is the answer in GB? and they are a "QB rich" franchise. If you are in the pos to win games, and dont have said stud QB, you better know how to use your team and their ability to their best potential. I think the Bears are good at this, except for Mr. Turner..but thats another arguement.
  8. would it be all that bad if he really missed playing time? De-Ro has been unbelievable lately....even tho Theriot has been having mostly a good year...

  10. btw, does anyone know what station the Bears game will be carried on? I was hoping there would be an off-chance I might get to see it.
  11. they ready to trade Smith yet?
  12. reeaaally? how so? maybe in public opinion, but Orton can be just as volitable as Grossman, and they have virtually the same contract. And Orton isnt a baby anymore. The last couple of games this year showed he is just as likely to bomb and misread as Grossman, as a veteran. I agree.
  13. Hes not caving to anything. He is just going to reinstate Favre and giving control over his future to the Packers. He could have reinstated him today or tomorrow but he is giving the Packers an extra day reports were that he was forcing Thompson to accept Favre's reinstatement, and come to terms with Favre. I dont think the Packers wanted any of this...
  14. I hate the Packers, but I have to say I REALLY thin Goodell is out of line here. The Packers have every right to control Brett's future. Its too bad the Commish has to cave to sentiment and act the bully
  15. They were still pretty good offensively, at least for half the season. I think if you took out the ST scores, the offense still ranked high. The yards weren't huge, but part of that was the field position they got, which, obviously, also helped with scoring. My point is that I don't think a "decent" offensive line results in a top ten scoring offense or 13 win season. I think they will need to be pretty darn near excellent on the line to see those rankings. 2006 O was ranked about 7, if I remember correctly. (edit: the OFFENSE, not team, was ranked #2 in scoring, about #15 in yards) They were pretty good, and that was with a decent O-line (not great). If (or when) Williams takes the LT pos, and the guard position is settled, the o-line agian will be decent, at least. Part of what 2006 had that 2007 didnt was more bynamic offense. Berrian deep, Jones in the flat, Benson up the middle. we didnt have a "true #1" WR then either, but it didnt matter. Mushin was passible, but not brilliant. Berrian basically caught the league by surprise by going deep, and Hester just did his best Hester. The D was the key. They were healthy and tee-ing off on the opposition. I think the biggest question for the Bears is their health on D. The o-line is a funny thing, sometimes the biggest surpirse is offered by the least likely to succeed. We dont have a deep pool of talent their, but they arent the picture of demise some make them out to be either. Just having Tait back at RT is a step in the right direction (it means there are more viable options or an option at LT-2 pos upgraded in one move). But this team only goes as far as Mike Browns MCL and Tommies motor. Grossman or Orton, I dont care (although I have a preference). Either can win...
  16. yea Bears, good move.....
  17. does Meph work in the Royals organization? why would he have inside info?
