While I think you're mostly right the window is more like three years: last year/this year/next year. After year 4 for a young QB is generally when the honeymoon is over. If he's good that's when you have to start paying him, if he's not good that's when you can feel pretty confident he's not going to get any better. Plus on the defensive side, our team control on Jackson and Floyd runs through next year. his comment has to do with how long an elite defense can keep a team in contention I believe. that being said, I think 3 years is pretty appropriate

My reputation on this board may in fact expose my past a bit: in high school, i played on some terrible teams because we were small physically, talent wise, AND in the size of the actual school. But I was 5-9 and 190 lbs and could bench 325 lbs. I took a hella beating, but I could dish a few out as well.

football? football is really fun to play - because no one plays with idiotic things like the offensive linemen can't twitch . . . watching football on tv is akin to watching 3.5 hours of commercials with about 10 minutes of action. says someone who's never put on the pads and spent time in the trenches. Football is hell to play. Getting rapped by a white cross sniffing 240 lb monster on a guard pull/blitz special is akin to being hit by a 1969 Chrysler Imperial when you are 6 years old. Don't challenge me on that one, I've done both. but I love watching it.
