I'm not sure I trust Contreras at 1st as much as I trust Caratini there I think Caratini is better defensively at either spot, but much more critically at catcher. I seriously doubt Contreras would be worse than merely adequate at 1B. I get that, and I know Caratini is Yu's catcher, but I still would feel better with them switched -
Would prefer to keep seeing Caratini at C and Contreras at 1B as long as Rizzo is out. I'm not sure I trust Contreras at 1st as much as I trust Caratini there

Geez 1 game and we're already convincing ourselves the Bears aren't going to be good this year? Don't get me wrong, last week was very discouraging but I'm not ready to give up on the team yet. We saw Tribusky make the same mistakes, this is what has me down on them and, as you said, is very discouraging. They lost 10-3 not 41-3. Or even 27-10. The offense has to get going, and last Thursday sucked ass, but I still believe they can figure it out. They showed they could play offense at a very high level last year, no reason they cant this year.

if we win 10 straight, we would inevitably lose the WC game as streaky as we are. I'd prefer 5 W, 3L, 4W, 3L 2W, 2l to get into the playoffs. But I'm not certain they are capable of a 2 game streak of any kind
