  1. Have you ever played goalie? Better yet, can you even skate? Goalie takes years to learn. A hard puck moving at 100 mph towards your grill will freak 99% of the population out, not to mention having to brace yourself in a perfect position while on two blades of steel. Literally any other position is easier to learn.
  2. then trade mitch for carr Don't think I'd hate a trade for Carr. Floyd and a 4th for Carr? that would be something, we get the Raiders best D player and their QB and they get our failed D player and failed QB
  3. Along with Longs retirememt that puts them at about 25m in cap. Still not a lot, around bottom 10. They could still free up some more, most notably Floyd's 13M. And extend ARob. then trade mitch for carr
  4. Has any professional team ever been stripped of their championship title?
  5. Do you guys remember Kerry Wood thinning out later in his career? Hopefully this helps JL’s stamina in late season
  6. God I hate seeing our RotY/MVP/WS champion talk about being/not being traded
  7. yea buuuut,,,,you're living the dream!!!
  8. i hate how Nolan starts to make me feel ok about losing Bryant. Then I think about Bryant providing many many bombs in CO, and I hate it even more
  9. that's the problem with defenses, you can't hide weaknesses, and once guys begin to age, the weaknesses abound. sure, but 2012 had an old, physically 25% of his glorious self Urlacher still manning the helm. He wasn't that big of a loss. The biggest hole was Tucker himself
  10. I thought about the idea of shortening the season, but that takes away ticket sales to even those not making the playoffs. Whats reasonable? 150 games, losing 6 home games? 145 you lose 8-9 home games? Would that even matter?
  11. Deciding to lead off the guy with a career .373 OBP, coming off a season he was over .400, and is 8th in MLB in OBP since 2014 doesn’t seem like a gut feeling. If it is, it’s at least a better feel than running Almora, Kemp, Descalso, etc out there at leadoff. yeah, to me we have a bunch of dudes i'd be fine with (on numbers alone) doing it, and there's definitely no justification for throwing actual terrible hitters there. the only wildcard to me is how the individual player reacts to it. heyward and schwarber might be totally fine there or might have totally been in their own heads about it (i believe both have said as much) - but we know rizzo embraces it. primarily, I meant his hint at "other guys" in the tweet.
  12. I hope it isn't just Ross's gut feeling....
  13. The difference between being the #2 seed and the # 5 seed can literally be the division you play in. How does a 1 game lead incentivize trying in that scenario, which happens nearly every year? Well in the first round, the team with the best record plays the wild card winner, so they would definitely have a better record than whoever they are playing, and then of the other two division winners, the team with the better record would get the advantage. In my head this only applied to round one. It creates level of incentives around having the best regular season possible and winning your division. I misses the part of it being applied to only the Divisional series. However, I worry its only a temporary fix: teams adept at tanking will continue to tank (as only a few wt the top are effected by this addition). The issue lies in the ownership, to me. I don’t know how you fix that unless you start taking away reams from the Jeff Lorias, and dare I say Ricketts of the world.
  14. It's not a need, it's a reward. You want to incentivize trying, which is a problem in baseball right now. The difference between being the #2 seed and the # 5 seed can literally be the division you play in. How does a 1 game lead incentivize trying in that scenario, which happens nearly every year?
  15. Why the hell would a stronger team need a 1 game advantage? Just play it straight up, if a team sneaks into the playoffs and then runs the table, thats a great sports story. 2019 Nationals, Giants vs NE, baseball Giants etc. i dont want to watch the NBA where every damn year its the top team winning it all
  16. A bump from 5 to 7 teams doesn’t seem all that significant. Choosing your opponents is bonkers
  17. I feel a kinship
  18. what a strange hill to die on Chad kelly? wtf cares
  19. I'm going out on a limb on this one and saying the XFL is perfect for Trestman, in soooo many ways
  20. Sure, but it takes two seconds to look over an account and tell which is which or at least which one is for sure [expletive]. you're absolutely right. [tweet] [/tweet] that reads like a Fox news headline
  21. [tweet] [/tweet]He's definitely going to end up being a reliever, but potentially a very good one if he can remain healthy. Twins marked him as "untouchable" last offseason or close to it. 100 mph sinker lol goodbye elbow
