  1. Yea, thats ....less then optimal. Hope he’s cheap
  2. I'm not a professional pitcher obviously, but I've never gained control by lowering my arm slot, I had to be over the top on delivery to be effective at all. So I ask: is this witchcraft?
  3. it is up, but so what. None of those 3 are significanlty better the Mitch. Bridgewater is probably the only available *obvious upgrade, unless he resigned already and I missed it. dalton is probably better but i wouldn't bother with him mariota fine whatever if they want him to back up and have someone to throw in if mitch really horsefeathers the bed. don't care at all to bother with keenum. carr is the best of the bunch. carr or bust. i'd prolly go Bridgewater or Carr, then Mitch...or bust
  4. Statistically speaking, they aren't much better if at all. Granted, QB rating isn't the end all be all of statistics but: Keenum- has 2 seasons in the last 4 worse than Trubisky's 2019 83 QB rating. Only 1 season in his career better than Trubisky's 2018 95.4 rating. Also, 32 years old with no upside to get better. Mariota- has 1 season better than Trubisky's 2018 95.4, and that was a 95.6 season. Same issues as Mitch with taking sacks. Doesn't throw a lot of picks, but similar gunshy and doesn't process quick enough to anticipate hitting an open receiver. More consistently mediocre though than the rest of this group, Trubisky included. Dalton- was statistically worse than Trubisky in 2019. Only has 1 season with a better QB rating than Mitch's 2018, and that was back in 2015. Older than Keenum so also doesn't have upside to improve. A little INT happy at times. Doesn't have a bunch of arm talent. isn't passer rating up league wide? if it were a good statistic we wouldn't be talking about replacing trubisky. his 2018 wasn't nearly as good as his passer rating makes it out to be. at least, not if you're looking at it from the standards of even 5-10 years ago. it is up, but so what. None of those 3 are significanlty better the Mitch. Bridgewater is probably the only available *obvious upgrade, unless he resigned already and I missed it.
  5. in an offensive tackle they are
  6. I'm not arguing, I'm just pointing out how athletic an NHL hockey goalie has to be. They also tend to be some of the taller guys on the team...fwiw.
  7. I can ice skate and I used to play roller hockey, and I had friends that played fairly competatively in high school and college. You can't tell me that probably half of their roster has some experience playing goalie when they were young. And THEY are the ones used to having 100 mph pucks shot at them, and that's without a goalie mask. Not sure that the rec leagues that these 40 year old, ex-college goalies are getting their reps in has prepared them for NHL slapshots. All that said, I can buy that they would fare better than Joe 4th line defender, but I'm most curious how teams were allowed to use non-rostered players in the first place. Every kid on our mite team rotates through goalie, and our best skaters are the absolute worst at goalie. By the time they are 10 they will either play goalie or not. But having experience as a 12 year old and then suiting back up as a 25 year old is night and day. https://thehockeynews.com/news/article/the-inside-story-on-the-oddity-that-is-the-emergency-backup-goalie-and-why-it-could-soon-change this is not someone who sucks at skating (the rest of what you say I totally agree with): http://www.fftimes.com/sites/default/files/story-photos/goalie-splits.jpg
  8. Have you ever played goalie? Better yet, can you even skate? Goalie takes years to learn. A hard puck moving at 100 mph towards your grill will freak 99% of the population out, not to mention having to brace yourself in a perfect position while on two blades of steel. Literally any other position is easier to learn.
  9. then trade mitch for carr Don't think I'd hate a trade for Carr. Floyd and a 4th for Carr? that would be something, we get the Raiders best D player and their QB and they get our failed D player and failed QB
  10. Along with Longs retirememt that puts them at about 25m in cap. Still not a lot, around bottom 10. They could still free up some more, most notably Floyd's 13M. And extend ARob. then trade mitch for carr
  11. Has any professional team ever been stripped of their championship title?
  12. Do you guys remember Kerry Wood thinning out later in his career? Hopefully this helps JL’s stamina in late season
  13. God I hate seeing our RotY/MVP/WS champion talk about being/not being traded
  14. yea buuuut,,,,you're living the dream!!!
  15. i hate how Nolan starts to make me feel ok about losing Bryant. Then I think about Bryant providing many many bombs in CO, and I hate it even more
  16. that's the problem with defenses, you can't hide weaknesses, and once guys begin to age, the weaknesses abound. sure, but 2012 had an old, physically 25% of his glorious self Urlacher still manning the helm. He wasn't that big of a loss. The biggest hole was Tucker himself
  17. I thought about the idea of shortening the season, but that takes away ticket sales to even those not making the playoffs. Whats reasonable? 150 games, losing 6 home games? 145 you lose 8-9 home games? Would that even matter?
  18. Deciding to lead off the guy with a career .373 OBP, coming off a season he was over .400, and is 8th in MLB in OBP since 2014 doesn’t seem like a gut feeling. If it is, it’s at least a better feel than running Almora, Kemp, Descalso, etc out there at leadoff. yeah, to me we have a bunch of dudes i'd be fine with (on numbers alone) doing it, and there's definitely no justification for throwing actual terrible hitters there. the only wildcard to me is how the individual player reacts to it. heyward and schwarber might be totally fine there or might have totally been in their own heads about it (i believe both have said as much) - but we know rizzo embraces it. primarily, I meant his hint at "other guys" in the tweet.
  19. I hope it isn't just Ross's gut feeling....
  20. The difference between being the #2 seed and the # 5 seed can literally be the division you play in. How does a 1 game lead incentivize trying in that scenario, which happens nearly every year? Well in the first round, the team with the best record plays the wild card winner, so they would definitely have a better record than whoever they are playing, and then of the other two division winners, the team with the better record would get the advantage. In my head this only applied to round one. It creates level of incentives around having the best regular season possible and winning your division. I misses the part of it being applied to only the Divisional series. However, I worry its only a temporary fix: teams adept at tanking will continue to tank (as only a few wt the top are effected by this addition). The issue lies in the ownership, to me. I don’t know how you fix that unless you start taking away reams from the Jeff Lorias, and dare I say Ricketts of the world.
  21. It's not a need, it's a reward. You want to incentivize trying, which is a problem in baseball right now. The difference between being the #2 seed and the # 5 seed can literally be the division you play in. How does a 1 game lead incentivize trying in that scenario, which happens nearly every year?
  22. Why the hell would a stronger team need a 1 game advantage? Just play it straight up, if a team sneaks into the playoffs and then runs the table, thats a great sports story. 2019 Nationals, Giants vs NE, baseball Giants etc. i dont want to watch the NBA where every damn year its the top team winning it all
