  1. I'm not sure what there is for you like so much, but I blame him for the defenses struggles closing out games. Maybe that's unfair, but he doesn't stile me as someone I'd hang onto if Nagy and Co go. I want/expect a clean slate so I'm fine with him not being back in 2022, but I think he has a future in this league. Wildcard though is a Greg Roman hire who has worked a lot with Fangio and may like to hire from that tree.... I thought Desai was from the Fangio tree?
  2. I haven't seen anything from a Matt Nagy led team in the last 3 years that would make me feel like they could have had 20 points if they wanted. In fact, kicking the FG as time expired felt like a sea change to me
  3. I'm not sure what there is for you like so much, but I blame him for the defenses struggles closing out games. Maybe that's unfair, but he doesn't stile me as someone I'd hang onto if Nagy and Co go. I think most of the problems are personnel honestly. I think, given the injuries especially, the Bears having an average defense (based on DVOA) is damn near a miracle. Average, but with pro bowlers at all 3 levels (Mack, Quinn, Smith, Johnson). Granted injuries have taken their toll, average seems about right and maybe low to me. Of course, I made the orig post when it looked like Detroit was headed for a third touchdown until they self imploded
  4. Why? Yeah I feel like he might be the one non-uniformed person in the org I still like I'm not sure what there is for you like so much, but I blame him for the defenses struggles closing out games. Maybe that's unfair, but he doesn't stile me as someone I'd hang onto if Nagy and Co go.
  5. I'd have gone with horsefeathers youYou are correct sir my mistake
  6. I don't get how a hold can negate the first touch. Only my teams?
  7. The KR unit loses yards every damn kick
  8. the mets exist hell, the blackhawks exist Jets Lions Texans
  9. never bet the under with the McCasckeys, it had to be true (I'm joking)
  10. I don't think that's the case given that its not some random twitter rumor and the fact that the Chicago media ran with it big time. Either they got some details incorrect or the plan changed after it blew up or both (like: the decision was made but Nagy was NOT told on Monday, with everything blowing up they decided to wait until the end of the season). Nagy's lack of effusive denial, the weird cancelling of all meetings, etc. Too much smoke to be totally untrue. totally plausible. weird all the way around really
  11. or, the Patch just decided to run with a totally untrue rumor
  12. this sounds horrific https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/32706428/minnesota-vikings-de-everson-griffen-refuses-leave-home-firing-weapon "I'm in my house. N----- trying to pop me," Griffen said in the video. "I've still got clips left. This is my gun, .45 Wilson Combat, registered to me. I bought all my bullets around town. Dalvin Cook helped me purchase this gun. It all belongs to me, and they are registered to me. I know exactly where I bought them. I've got the card I have them on. I have everything."
  13. "a" game? I feel like its been 4 or 5 games that everyone knew he was a lame duck There's a huge difference between a literal lame duck, if that's what's going on and a presumed one. like what, acceptance (on the ownership part)?
  14. "a" game? I feel like its been 4 or 5 games that everyone knew he was a lame duck
  15. WTF are you talking about? Yes they do. Ownership owes a ton of information. If this ownership, in this season, with all the circumstances surrounding it don't owe any information to anybody, then nobody owes anybody any information, ever. or what, Chicago residents will go scorched earth and burn down Halas Hall? As I posted above, the McCaskeys have long ago set an expectation of cowardice & general ineptitude. If those were things that could effect their power over the franchise, the results have long ago taken hold. Why would this year be any different? sell the team, ya schmucks
  16. I have to admit, I dont think I've ever experienced that. Maybe the Berry Sanders years, but like, 2 years tops Just detroit fans in general. I used to work with a lot of them. They were relentlessly annoying when the Lions went 9-1 against the Bears during the 10's. Pistons fans still hate the Bulls and Red Wings fans were horsefeathers during their dynasty. My favorite is one season the Lions went 4-0 in the preseason and every morning when I came into work this co-worker would come over and brag about how the Lions were going to stomp the Bears and was talking about how the Lions were better at every position except Linebacker. He pushed me into making a bet for whenever the first Bears/Lions game was that year where the loser had to wear the winners jersey to work for an entire week. The season started and....well this was the year the Lions went 0-16. He shut up pretty quickly. But the next summer after FA he started talking about how great of an offseason the Lions had and how they 'completely closed the gap'. Come to think of it, that co-worker definitely shaped/skewed my opinion of Detroit fans, but he's not the only annoying one I've encountered in person or online by a long shot. you should try living in Minneapolis some time. They actually like the Bears a bit, loved calling the Metrodome the "RollerDome" a la Ditka, but holy hell do they get loud for a franchise who cant win (or more recently get to ) a SB
  17. I'm kind of happy to give Detroit a win. those folks need something to celebrate I'm fine if we lose but I'm not happy to give Detroit a win. As soon as those fans get a whiff of superiority they become annoying af I have to admit, I dont think I've ever experienced that. Maybe the Berry Sanders years, but like, 2 years tops
  18. I feel like trying to get Geo and Mikey to act like a 21st century org is truly defeating on a personal level. If thats what you want, you should be all for a quick sale to Bezos or some other like-minded megarich dude I do mostly agree there. Things had seemingly improved a little with George as far as org optics like this go. So I was a little optimistic they were back to like mostly in over their head and not completely. But perhaps my optimism got the best of me. i wouldn't mind Bezos as long as he has decided to step away from Amazon and really focus on developing the Bears, mainly. but I worry the Bears would just be a trophy for him..
  19. the McCaskey brothers have always been accused of being spineless going back to Ditka. True or not, its what they do I can get the desire to be above the rumor mill chatter to a large extent, but given everything I think it's an awful decision to let your coach and players away in the wind with this all. "No decisions have been made regarding the contracts of any coach or front office staff. The Bears organization remain committed to winning and will continue to evaluate our progress towards that goal. Each persons primary goal in the organization is on the Detroit Lions game this week." Somehthing like that is all that's really needed if the leak is mostly BS. If the leak is mostly true, there isn't a great response, but I do think the leak is a big issue then and a bad sign. I feel like trying to get Geo and Mikey to act like a 21st century org is truly defeating on a personal level. If thats what you want, you should be all for a quick sale to Bezos or some other like-minded megarich dude
  20. I'm kind of happy to give Detroit a win. those folks need something to celebrate
  21. I agree they don't owe info. But again, who leaked it. If Pace/Ted/George.. Yikes. If someone else, why did they know? I guess maybe the slightly larger circle of the board maybe knew? But you've got a bad leak from that group too. That's just not a great organizarional sign IMO. If the leak is true in entirety, that's a face-palm decision IMO. The only outcome that makes me feel somewhat better is if the leak is primarily false. Let's say that "he's a dead amn walking" comment was miscommunicated or something along those lines. But I think they may be best suited to put out some response now, especially after the Biggs report. the McCaskey brothers have always been accused of being spineless going back to Ditka. True or not, its what they do
  22. nah, if anything, not saying anything seems to be confirming their is something to the leak. Leaking it is probably the easy way of saying to the media "yo, Nagys toast" The Bears ownership doesnt owe any more information to anyone, really
